Rivanor 1 #1 Posted May 5, 2009 If anyone lives in Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, or Nevada, this is for you. A group is hosting a 150 person LAN party in the Salt Lake City, Utah area on Saturday May 16th (all day). I live in this area, which is why I am going. They are having a 6v6 TF2 tournament. I went to a LAN last November hosted by these guys and there were like 10 teams competing. However, most of these teams were pickup teams composed of newbs who were just playing for fun. I was very frustrated to get stuck on a newb team for the tournament and lose because no one knew what they were doing. So I'd like to be a bit more prepared this time with a good team. I think I've got a team of 3-4 guys out of the 6 needed so far and just need a few more. If you are interested, let me know. I own a house so you'd have a place to stay while you're here. Details are here: details

Rydawg 14 #13 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) this would be fun and I live in Denver, but a 10 hour ride isnt fun / Plus I would rather reamin known as Rawrdawg or Rydawg, my name will always remain a mystery! Edited May 5, 2009 by Rydawg
Rivanor 1 #14 Posted May 5, 2009 this would be fun and I live in Denver, but a 10 hour ride isnt fun / Plus I would rather reamin known as Rawrdawg or Rydawg, my name will always remain a mystery! You're right, the drive from Denver sucks (I've done it twice) but it actually is 8 hours, not 10. If you can get a buddy to help with driving, that helps a lot. And yeah, we can't guess what the "Ry" means, so I think your identity is safe.

More like, I was a dope and actually asked that question because I have no brainpower or common sense. HERPDY DERP

Miyari 33 #18 Posted May 5, 2009 You guys are weird. Also, my real name is in my Steam profile and my work's staff page so fuck Internet anonymity. Also, yay for LANs. Un-yay for being in weird states nowhere near me. I've used up my 'Road Trip' quota for this year by convincing my mum we should drive out to Tulsa so I can see Ben Folds. Rivanor 1 #21 Posted May 18, 2009 Just to let everyone know, the LAN party was last Saturday and my team crushed the competition and easily took 1st place without losing a single round. Hopefully next time the competition will be a bit more balanced. As a prize for winning, we all got these : The Prize I'm pretty happy about that as it's definitely a few steps up from what I currently have.
+Henry Spencer 117 #22 Posted May 18, 2009 That looks nice. What will you do, move all your current parts to that tower?

That case looks awesome, I love Nvidia edition cases (green > blue). I wish they made a Nvidia edition of the case I bought for my new rig, but sadly it's only available for the Antec 900. Hopefully my new case will arrive tomorrow on time, as I'm still fucking around with Antec to RMA the first one (that arrived broken).
Spartan_0214 18 #24 Posted May 18, 2009 I dunno. The best case I've seen is on the HP Blackbird 002.
Rivanor 1 #25 Posted May 18, 2009 That looks nice. What will you do, move all your current parts to that tower? Yeah, I'll just move everything over. My current case is quite old, I've probably had the exact same case since the Celeron 450A days at least, so this will be a major upgrade for me.
