I just wanted to point out to all you complainers that the stat server has been down for over a month, and people play just the same. Few rush to the point when the clock is ticking down, or push the cart unless the area is completely clear and no one is in sight.

On another note, is the stat server ever going to go up? I found my old Athlon 3200 processor that fits into a Socket 939 motherboard, which I'd be willing to donate. The processor may be old but with a little love and good thermal lube, I think she's up to the task.

I wish.

I'd rather have stats that take 24hr or 48hr to process rather than no stats at all.

Stats don't mean much on a PUG imo, unless you are constantly being challenged.

People don't typically play as a team when stats are up. I'd actually rather not have a stats server, period.

I want stats, though only for the sole purpose so we can all finally see how awesome suckylife is at this game

I don't miss the stats.

Me either really... I don't pay any real attention to them anymore, although I can't claim that I ever gave them serious thought anyway.

I'm conflicted about the stats. I liked the fact that I could see my performance over time and compared to others. However, stat whoring brought out the worst in the teams, and I have had more fun since they've been down simply because people don't give a damn about whether or not they win. It allows people to be a little more laid back and calm.

Stacking does not count as teamwork, just an fyi. Note that I'm not complaining about stacking. Personally I miss... stats. It was awesome to see what maps you are the best at, who you've killed the most and who kills you the most, among other things. I also think that stats can push you to be better. But that's my an opinion. Continue your stat-hate posts

Stats were bragging rights for me in -G-; Bearclaw and I were always really close together, and we always had fun kicking ass. Then he disappeared, and I really don't care anymore.

It would be slow... but the server itself is not as much a problem as putting the server somewhere with enough bandwidth.

There's actually been a bunch of improvements that I made to stats but could never push out.

Ranging from more team focused point gains as well as spy/medic improvements (spy due to the fake kill update and all).

The stats plugin has also been improved greatly, it's response time has been reduced to milliseconds.

Because you have improper zeal!

No, it just gets boring when you throttle the other team for the bazillionth time.

Mana, i have a older P4 1.8ghz 512mb ram, with Widows Server 2003 on it, I would be willing to host it, i would just need help setting it up and stuff, My ISP doesn't limit my bandwith per month, my ISP speeds are 7mbps down and 768 kbps up. Let me know

The upload is too low :P . That and the stats were REALLY slow on a 3.8 GHZ P4 with Hyper Threading :X. The amount of servers to retrieve stats from needs a more robust server (Dual core or so) :( .

Thanks for the offer anyway.

Actually I know a business where I could stash a server, although I don't know what the connection speeds are. I assume at least T1, but not sure if it's particle or full. Short of calling the ISP, any "reliable" way to find out?

You could just do a speed test and get a rough idea (go to speedtest.net) that is if you can be at the location and run a computer and test.
