"I lay granite for my profession, I could easily do 800 pounds on the deadlift"

800 pounds deadlift at 200 pound body weight? ORLY?

This is what 800 pounds look like, and these guys weigh 250-300+ pounds

You are so full of shit, proclaiming to pull 4x your body weight. lol?

I dont see you on the top 20 world record here for the 200 pound body weight class.

The irony; spending time to dig up internet pictures to suggest the fact that you dont care.

How do people not realize the shit that come out of the mouth is so unrealistic? I just dont get how it is possible to proclaim a world record like lift, without ever doing a deadlift? Shit just never ceases to amaze me.

Consider the possibility that the guy was making up shit because he knows how much of a douchebag you are and how you would react. Hook, line, & sinker.

I'm laughing my ass here. Awesome thread!

This guy was there in the game to witness!

Btw, ae.fist.walrus' story was too compelling to be made up. He said he had a math degree and an MBA when he was young, but got stressed out from the office work (lol?) so he decided to be a granite marble top counter installer. Every day he lifts granite and puts it on the table. Supposedly he came up with the figure of 800 pounds deadlift by the volume of granite he was able to pick up, and its density? lol..... He said this story twice, 2 months apart.

Granite has an average density of 2.75 g/cm^3 (Source)

1 cubic foot of granite = 172 pounds.

800 pounds = 4.65 cubic foot of granite.

Has anyone ever seen anyone lift up nearly 5 cubic feet of solid rock? Thats even harder than a regular barbell since grip strength is the limiting factor in deadlifting. Its nearly impossible to grip around a big slab of rock that heavy.

I dunno. I'm too much of idiot to understand what you just said. Maybe if you provided some diagrams it could help me out. :)
