Well, I hope they use a CD key or something like that. Pete once told me that they had something like 100,000 people with the game in asia, but that only five percent of that was legally purchased. Liquid doesn't make money that way, and all you pirates wanting a sequel just make me laugh because you didn't give them the incentive to want to make another one.

Yes indeed the game was kinda pirated. However it is also the reason why the game is still being played online to this day. Then again maybe if Liquid recieve enough money they would of kept supporting the game even till now.

Also it would've always been possible to make an update that required a legit & up-to-date exe to log into the gamespy lobby. That's the way it is with most games, pirates might be able to crack it and make it possible to play by yourself or through IP/LAN but there's no way for casual gamers to avoid a file checking gateway to their servers.

You're right, but I never said piracy killed it. Low hype killed it. Ubi and Crave killed it. I only bought the game cuz the box art caught my eye. Now, they probably don't care about the piracy because at least they're getting their name out there, and the only legit copies left are in some bargain bin where Liquid won't get any profit anyway.

hmm..this seems to raise my hopes a bit...maybe this will help keep me going in br1 until br2 comes out, when it comes out, then i will try my hardest to get it...and the graphics and storyline will help to make it even better, and i think that they do get a tiny bit out of the money used to buy it from bargain bins..at least i think they do anyways...good luck liquid and i hope for the best for br2...maybe it will continue the storyline from the endings of br1

They're not getting any money if the stores don't buy from them. When you see a game on the shelf that's 'cause the store has already ordered and paid for it. So the only new dollars the BR franchise makes are from sites like direct2drive.

hmm well if its in the bargain bins, then they already did order it and basically got pushed aside by the other cheap imitations of games into the place of no return...the bargain bin, so i still hold on to the what i believe to be fact that games in bargain bins still get a very tiny amount of revenue to go towards the makers, and being that a couple other companies kinda squeezed liquid (*cough*cough* ubi soft and crave *cough*cough*) so maybe liquid will still get a tiny bit, because like you said about them having to order it and pay for it, then if they didnt, then how did they get it in the first place, no? so unless they got the game through a trade in, then i dont see why they don't get even a very tiny amount of money from it...and the they for the trade in is the game stores

Hmm. Well well.

Like all of you, BR is the best ever RTS game for me. I think Lquid should release a "Enhanced" version of BR that not require invest much in new character and story. Here are my ideas:

1. Update the graphic engine to catch up with new trend (but still make it configurable to let low-end system play with it).

2. Fix all logic bug that make online playing maybe unfair.

3. Better online server - maybe you let us creat a master server. Most ppl in br.us will donate for this server. ;-))

4.Add the following in the gameplay control:

- Gamer able to make subgroup of unit in a big unit (imagine you could make a whole army move, then control samurai go up attack Warlock while move geisha follow...) This should be innovative idea in game control. I did not see it in any games now.

- Able to make formation -> attack or defense more efficently.

- Display tips about houses, units when you select (new gamers would get familiar with the game faster..)

- Show detail information about houses & units when selected (health, attack, defense point, abilities,...)

- Advanced online gameplay: coperative mode (where player could play in the same team, control the same clan)

- Make more feature 3D camera controls

I think ideas about are somewhat innovative in RTS game (some of them are not innovative but lack in BR). I hope BR is the first one got it, I don't want to see those on others before BR2.
