cptheslayer 2 #10 Posted January 6, 2007 Thai (used to be Siem, but since Siem means more like a bandit it is no longer used and became Thai). I heard the history that Thai's writing was developed from Cambodian writing which originally came from India. That is why Thai writing looks so much familia to Cambodian writing (Khmer). I can almost read it if I look at it closely. Some of Thai writing different from Khmer where it does not have hair and legs (that is what they are called; pretty funny). cptheslayer 2 #13 Posted January 7, 2007 Wow! Too much knowledge!!! Not only BR, but History too LOL. 22567[/snapback] That is what you get for being educated and for spending many many years in skool. time is money; knowledge is power. i almost got 20 posts today. I shall rest and resumer later. btw, i don have time to play br anymore. just too much math reading and writings. Actually, Siem was changed to Thai after Siem was defeated by Khmer (Cambodian) at a battle field that was named Siem Reap (meaning Siem has lost). Because of this defeat, Siem changed to Thai. Actually, Siem does not mean bandit. 'Yuon' means bandit. Vietnam used to be called 'Yuon' (or at least called by many people). Since hte meaning is not nice, people who love Vietnamese call Vietnam. However for those who hates still call Yuon.
