Speedy 11 #1 Posted May 20, 2008 If it gets enough votes I will ask Rundown how to set-up a 2VS2 tourney, maybe he could set up the brackets himself as he has the most experience with that out of all of us. I was thinking how annoying it is that one base in VoD is only used if someone is forced into it because of the crap water gather points and lack of rice. So I just made a new VoD that is symmetrical, and has very well balanced resources between all players. Plus no height or space advantages for the lucky team that spawns nearer to them while still keeping it as similar to the original as I can. It's still not finished and I will work on it some more if people think it is a good idea. Also I didn't add any boulders as it seems a bit unfair that a tournament match could be won by simply rolling a rock through someone's army. Will change if enough people want me to. Here are two previews of it:

cptheslayer 2 #8 Posted May 21, 2008 for me, the original map or any map is fair assuming all players have played with any of these maps frequently. About resources, many players complain about vod because they cannot get rice or water. oh well, i never have trouble with this; one suggestion from me: do not let your units run to die so that you will need more rice and water to train. Also put more peasants to get rice(if you get id'ed, then keep your eyes on your enemy and run your peas when need to. Build a well and a hut out of reach of id range. Or simply just go to the other resource point. Remember, "Do not play only against your enemy's units, but simply play against your enemy's mind." I have had so much fun by deceiving by enemy to retreat from my units which are no match for his or her units. For instance, spearmen with no BG's chase mounted swordsmen away from my teammates (I did this on baxter; he ran even faster than peasant's maximum speed when he saw my spearmen. lol). Also, i have this with warlocks, werewolves, and so on. No need to spend resources on my weak units if not necessary because many players just assume that when they see spearmen, they see whirlingspears. However, doing this may be at your own disadvantage because a smart opponent will try to test your strength of army. When your opponent finds out that you only have plian spearmen, guess what will happen? You will mostly likely lose. But if you are smart too, then you might want to trap your opponent to think that you have nothing to defend. When your opponent rushes in, show him or her what you really got. Then counterattack as fast and effectively as you can. Now, you see why many good players like to scout and send unit or units to attack? In late game, I never care much about losing half of my units for zero kill in return. Why is this so? well, my base is well defended and i have plenty of resources. At this point Yangs or Yins are more important to me, and of course to keep the game alive and fun. Another reason is that if my opponent attacks me after i just lost half of my units, I do not have to worry about being outnumbered. A base with good defense will keep the enemy on the outskirt of the base. Also, by the time my enemy gets to my base, i often have recovered my early loss of units ( some players asks how do i train so fast?) well, with plenty of resources, say most of the time, i have around 4000 rice and 1000 water. I also have all heroes too and upgrades most skills. We all know that only one unit can go train in one building at a time. So if you lose half of you units or more, your peasants would generate faster than the training time. This means that they have to wait to train. Don't be silly. Use the most advanced technology to build a flying building on top of your building so your peasants can fly up there to train just like in DBZ. Ok here is how i do it. in late game, i have frequently reached building maximum number. I build mostly huts after i got my clan buildings and another set of training buildings. So i have 2 sets of training buildings. Of course i also have a hut near my second set. I just open two huts for traingin. With many huts, my peasants generate fast and with my 2 sets of traingin building, I train more units in shorter time. I often send my army to die and let my enemy think that i just lost so he or she can come and attack me. By the time he or she gets to my base, they say I cheat. lol lol lol. Another thing, after the game is over, they look at the stats, they say i cheat because usually i have the most resources and yang/yins and upgrades. Do i ever care? No. no judges or teammates has ever seen me cheat. I have to say that, when you are at a certain level of skills, you just trust other players at a certain skill level not to cheat. I will tell you something about Ben. One time, it was 2v2, i was attacking him, guess what I saw? his peasants were harvesting rice on empty dirt. lol lol lol. But seeing this does not mean I think Ben cheats. on the other hand, i informed him to stop get rice from empty dirt. I trust him that he does not cheat. No one is perfect. The peasants wanted to harvest more rice, so they get more rice in share. Don't we all want that? Another thing i notice about gameplay. if you use ctrl shift alt for your units to attack a building not in sight, some of your units will run to the edges of the map instead and they keep running. So do not do that because even one unit can make a big different in early game. One last thin b4 i go back to my class to learn to play br with more fun. Epox has quited br. i do not mind to fight 1v2 now. But i am curious about who wants to team up with me.
