+Dr. Obvious 14,606 #601 Posted October 22, 2013 Hmm. Watched the first two episodes.Even if it is a similar concept, the whole thing feels a bit... different. A bit more... how to say... more goofy, more ecchi, more slapstick.I'll stick to it for a couple more episodes, then i'll decide if i like it or not. ultr@BUNNY 8,565 #602 Posted October 22, 2013 I think the first half of sao was good. but then they made it 26 episodes to cash in and it went downhill from there. The episodes after episode 12-13 weren't not made to cash in, they are actually part of the light novels, first half of the show covers volume 1-2, the second half covers volume 3-4, but SAO already had problems with characters, story, pointless side-stories and Deus ex Machina solutions to begin with. It had potential, I won't deny that, unfortunately, it's never fully used. I hope Bunny notices this discussion, i'm sure he would love to input some thoughts about SAO and Log Horizon. Your wish is my command. Hmm. Watched the first two episodes. Even if it is a similar concept, the whole thing feels a bit... different. A bit more... how to say... more goofy, more ecchi, more slapstick. I'll stick to it for a couple more episodes, then i'll decide if i like it or not. Personally I think Log Horizon as the potential to be better than SAO, of course with only 3 episodes I can only speculate. So far I think they did a better job than SAO in making the the "world" feel like what its should, a game. SAO always looked more like a fantasy setting with some MMORPG elements, in LH there are more class variety, skills, and overall feels more like what it should, a virtual world (a game). Also LH doesn't take itself too seriously, and with that it comes more freedom, SAO wanted to be taken seriously and with that comes extra responsibility, unfortunately SAO couldn't deliver.

Nano 7,892 #605 Posted October 27, 2013 Coming to Toonami in Jan. Space Dandy Trailer: Definitely has a Cowboy Bebop/Outlaw Star feel to it. It is by BONES and they usually do action/adventure pretty well.

Space Dandy is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, same director of Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Kids on the Slope. BONES did an amazing job with Eureka 7 and FMA Brotherhood. Ofc you get the same feel...
Reisen 1,973 #607 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) I liked when they actually were still inside SAO. But with Alfheim and those Fairy Fetishes, I skipped most episodes to at least see the ending. The whole vacation thing and when they met Yui and things got romantic was pretty okay for me, I liked it. But when it came to the whole "Hey, let's get Asuna, the female protagonist captured and enslaved like a pig" thing, I lost the mood to watch the Alfheim episodes. Just too sad that I can't find proper romantic animes without the girls having the breast size of Pamela Anderson. :| Maid-sama was a blessing to me... I would definitively look more into Shoujo (Girl) Animes. But find something that isn't generic garbage, and where the female character has a strong presence, it's not an easy job. Putting in those terms, applying the genres of Comedy, Drama, Romance and School and a strong, independent character like Misaki, the only plausible choices would be either: Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun Ouran Koukou Host Club Skip Beat! edit* Added links Edited October 29, 2013 by Ultr@Bunny

No longer a Sexy King:^) 5,592 #625 Posted November 7, 2013 Did anyone around here watch Fairy Tail?! I wanted to get some more opinions on it. Besides bunny since i already know his. I keep picking it up and dropping it, looks like a worse version of one piece/naruto but apparently in MAL it's really loved and praised, almost as much as One Piece. But then again, everything on MAL is overrated.
