Barbaro 466 #1 Posted September 30, 2013 Not talking about Lotus' ProLoser, I mean about pros and losers in general. I'm constantly asked if I play UGC/Highlander/Whatever the fuck you call it for I think, 'comp' play...and I'm wondering why one would think that. Is there is a specific game-play, mode, or behavior that these 'pros' give off or something? I'm just your average idiot with rockets and miniguns and snipers. Sep 29, 2013 5:28:15 pm you should be on highlander, not here LotusClan.com | Dunno, should I be concerned, or just take the grilling like if they were compliments? *I don't actually reply to these things, but I'm just curious with all the spam lately.*
- Mike - 2,728 #2 Posted September 30, 2013 It's basically calling you a try hard because you are good at 'x' class. Why would you bother with pubs when you could be playing comp? What these people don't realize is that comp games are only played like once a week or so (for UGC, ESEA has a few I think) and between that there are scrims and pugs, but pugs aren't always going on since it requires people to join up. yada yada. Take it as a compliment. "you should be on highlander, not here LotusClan.com" But it sounds like this person doesn't even speak English, so I dunno

Hmm...I guess I will, should I say anything in response to these 'tryhard' losers? Its like being accused of hacking because you're good. I have been, many, many times, and have had vote bans called onto me, for no fucking reason. I've been studying my own stats as well, I don't exactly see the problem here. http://stats.lotusclan.com/playerinfo/7012
- Mike - 2,728 #5 Posted October 1, 2013 Most people who say this stuff never actually played against a pro player. Eh, it's the same train of thought of someone saying "Why do you try so hard? Why don't you just play for fun like the rest of us?" When they don't realize doing all those rocket jumps doing bombs, or getting meatshots when playing scout, or getting loads of headshots is fun to you.
Sphagnum Peat Moss 748 #6 Posted October 1, 2013 When they don't realize doing all those rocket jumps doing bombs, or getting meatshots when playing scout, or getting loads of headshots is fun to you. +1 for that. If you're not trying to do something, why are you doing it at all? Just enjoy raping them. For me, winning = fun, so I play to win. I will proudly wear the "tryhard" label.

I'm too tryhard to be a tryhard =p And if people are saying you ought to be with the pro people, isn't that a compliment?
Nano 7,892 #9 Posted October 1, 2013 I find it amusing that the origin of my handle is the underlying presumption that the better at a game you get the more you are probably sacrificing in the non gaming world. in that context the more "pro" you were in a game... the more of a "loser" you likely were in real life. Hence one could be a "Pro Loser". I don't feel the same way now (not entirely anyway) but this conversation is all the more amusing with that background information.
