Is Lotus Right For Me?

I apologize if this is not in the correct place or if there is a thread around that answers my question - I did spend some time looking for it but might have missed it...

My wife and I LOVE TF2. We have played plenty of hours for the application, and probably plenty on the Lotus Servers, though I can't be sure of that. (We are Hexpion and Phelddagrif generally). To give you an idea of our skill We typically do quite well - often top three, say, but it is clear that the folks that beat us are MUCH better. We are very good team players however - communicate, play the positions we think are needed, pass off intel to faster runners and generally keep our eye on the goal of the game (which for us is almost always CTF) and not our stats.

So what we are looking for is a way to play with like minded folk - that is - the pick up games are really really unreliable as far as quality; with lots of folk essentially ignoring the goals to accumulate points - or perhaps practicing their taunts, or trading, or etc. etc. etc. We would love to play on a team that communicated and worked - as a team. Occasionally this happens with pick up games but not often enough.

This doesn't mean we want to participate in the most uber competitions - we aren't the best and we know it; we are excellent team players with many hours experience a love for the game and probably middling skills.

Please advise us on whether Lotus is right for us, and if not - where to look for such games.

Hi, I am glad to hear that you are thinking of joining Lotus Clan. From reading this it seems that you are looking for a tactical clan. From my short time here, I have gathered that Lotus Clan is more about friends and being a community. While we do have some members that play tactically and a lot of them are highly skilled, most of us play for fun. So I would recommend you to look at maybe competitive tf2, since it is all about team work, skill and communication. A Staff member should be here shortly and(For other members, recruits and staff) if I am wrong about lotus clan or someone else wants to explain please feel free to comment.

Lotus is not a competitive clan. However we do have some competitive oriented members and recruits (in fact, we already had a couple like you and your wife joining the clan and enjoying their time here) so finding some pick up games with them should not be a problem. If you think you can handle one hour of community "practice" a week and putting "L-r |" in front of your username, in return you'll get the most awesome TF2 community around with best public servers and a lot of people who are generally friendly.

Lotusclan is a very friendly community who enjoys a good game as much as a good laugh, it is filled with many different players of all sorts. Those who compete, those who trade and those who just want to play. Feel right ahead to join the clan and check it out further and maybe you'll get a bigger picture to make a decision whether to stay or keep searching, one thing for sure is you shouldn't feel disapointed

Sign up and play with us, from my experience there isn't as much nonsense going on on Lotus servers and it's good fun whilst still being (usually) focused on team play...anyone on Lotus servers not actively playing usually ends up leaving, sometimes through choice sometimes not

If the ping is not too bad UK 2Fort servers usually give a good game.
