Mumble Guide Info: IP: mumble.lotusclan.com port: 64738 (default) Note: If you are a member of Lotus Clan you won't be able to access the Lotus Clan channels until you register and a staff member grants you permissions. For the first 24 hours we'll be going in regularly to check registered users and give them the appropriate permissions. If you join after that please pm any staff member to let them know you've registered. There are channels for tf2, dota, clan, D&D, comp, practice, mvm, admins, and anyone can also create their own temporary channels. Some people might be new to mumble and don't know much about it, so I wrote a guide about what you need to know about mumble.How do I install mumble?You can download a mumble installer at mumble.com for Windows, Mac and Linux. After downloading the installer, run it and the installer will guide you through the installation process.How do I find the Lotus server?When you start mumble a window with the server list will pop up. On top of that list you find your favorite servers, below that all public servers.Below the serverlist you see four buttons: Connect, Add new.., Edit.. and CancelTo add our server to your favorites, click the "Add new.." Button. An other window will pop up, there you need to enter our server details.After you added our server, you can find it in your favorites in the serverlist. Now you can connect to it by simply double clicking it or selecting it and clicking the connect button.I get a warning about a certificate when I connect..First time you connect to our server you will be warned that the server uses a self-signed SSL certificate and asked if you still want to continue. Simply click yes and you will be reconnected to the server. This warning won't appear again after you accepted once.You get the warning because our server isn't in an official list of servers that are considered safe and secure because we host it ourselves.What Channels can I use?When you first connect to our server, you can join the public channels such as the Team Fortress 2 or DOTA channels and their subchannels. Each channel has a comment that describes what it's supposed to be used for. You can read the comments by clicking the c next to the channelname.If you decide to join Lotus as a regular you will get access to the LotusClan channel. Depending on your position in Lotus, you will be granted access to more channels.Registering on our serverTo register on our server, click the "Self" button in the upper left corner of your mumble window and select "Register". Keep in mind that after registering you can't change your username on your own anymore so connect with the username you want to be registered with. Once you registered you will have this icon next to your username. Registering on our server doesn't give you any advantage itself, but you need to register to be able to get more priviliges. If you think you are missing priviliges contact Lotus Staff.How do I mute or deafen myself and others?You can mute and deafen yourself with the microphone and headset buttons. The microphon button mutes you, the headset button deafens you. If you are muted or deafend a red cross will appear in front of the button and an icon will be added next to your username.Beside that, you can mute other users locally. To mute a user, right click their name and select "Local mute". User muted himself User deafend himself User locally muted User muted by admin User deafen by adminHow do I switch between transmission modes?The transmission modes are continuous, voice activity and push-to-talk. To switch between them click the "Configure" button and select settings. In the window that will pop up select "Audio Input" and select what transmission mode you want to use from the dropdown menu in the transmission section.If you want to use push to talk you will need to setup a shortcut for push to talk. To set a new shortcut select "Shortcuts" from the list on the left hand side.Click the "Add" Button and a new unassigned function will appear in your shortcut list. Also, if anyone has screen shots of the old setup, that would be greatly appreciated. Can I get the following pretty please... In a Dota section... Bad Haircuts Good Haircuts Srs Bsns (we would use this for the scrims which we have started having) Also an "aitch1zee1" channel with would be epic with the following rooms...
