Minia 1,211 #1 Posted March 4, 2015 To others who have trialed amazon prime, be warned that after your trial has ended you will automatically be charged to continue prime without notification or your consent. The fuckers almost got away with £79 from me.

Infin 763 #6 Posted March 4, 2015 I have also been flinched by Amazon when I signed up for a trial for Audible and then they just kept charging me for almost a whole year even though I didn't listen to one fecking audiobook. It'd have been nice if they'd sent some kind of notification through email each month that they were taking the money. I don't even know how I missed the charges on my payment records, but I suppose that makes it partly my fault (and for not reading the fine-print). Ultimate 702 #8 Posted March 4, 2015 Pretty common for subscription models, but they don't exactly hide it.

Hellfire 421 #10 Posted March 4, 2015 Amazon's customer service is actually good. When I got charged for the 2nd year I called them back and they refunded the amount without issue.
fever 9,884 #11 Posted March 5, 2015 Yeah it feels rough when you get caught out, its so easy to forget to cancel it or to be caught out when you cancel by "oh we need 7 days notice to cancel so you'll have to cancel next month" clauses. They rely on you reading the small print and I of course you should, but for a free/low cost entertainment service where they appear to make everything really clear it feels unnecessary. Domino 3,168 #12 Posted March 5, 2015 Order stuff, cancel straight away. My brother buys it and gives me his guest one. Considering £79 is for free next day delivery and free movie rental for 15,000 titles.. It's vloody good value for money. I've had it since feb and have already saved a good £

The fuckers almost got away with £79 from me. Not sure how it is where you live. But here in the US it warns you beforehand (when you sign up for the trial) and then again shortly before you are billed (this time in email form). Lucky for me I got 2 years of free prime thanks to the awesome US credit card bonuses. Else I wouldn't have prime anymore. Amazon's customer service is actually good. When I got charged for the 2nd year I called them back and they refunded the amount without issue. They are usually. And I agree with the refund after you get charged part. A number of my friends were too stupid to cancel beforehand and got charged. But the nice Indians working at amazon refunded the money without issue. Although they did recently charge a restocking fee on an item that they fucked up with and have so far refused to refund the fee. All I did was follow their directions too. Was told to return it and re-order again. Guess I'll have to fight them for my $50. This was my only bad experience with amazon in the past 5 years.

Cola Kid 230 #15 Posted March 5, 2015 Ive got to agree with Domino its incredibly good value. I gladly pay them so little money. The postage alone over a year covers it easily. plus you can also give the free postage to hmmm 4 other family members if I remember right. So not only do I get the postage free but so does my gf my daughter and my mother. I dont know how they make any money on it.. especially considering so much of it is next day delivery
