fever 9,884 #1 Posted October 11, 2015 A quick run through Verbundsring in reverse and at night. Excuse the shoddy driving...I should get a wheel and play this more often it is an awesome game. The footage is from the replay.
Hellfire 421 #2 Posted October 12, 2015 Ive never been into racing games that much except for the Burnout series. In the end I end up liking them but I get so pissed off when I dont do well and the rage is real haha. The stress is not good for me and anything with timers for me is bad. Was that just a npc talking to you in the game?
fever 9,884 #3 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Ive never been into racing games that much except for the Burnout series. In the end I end up liking them but I get so pissed off when I dont do well and the rage is real haha. The stress is not good for me and anything with timers for me is bad. Was that just a npc talking to you in the game?I know exactly what you mean about rage, there's nothing worse than driving games to bring it out in me when I make a stupid mistake and ruin a nice run through a stage. I love driving games but can only play them so much before I get frustrated and need to go and shoot someone in H1Z1. The voice you can hear is the co-driver who is giving you the pave notes as he would in real life. The only downside is that on occasion he misses a note or is late in delivery which you can see a minute or so into the video above when I arrive too fast into a corner and have to grab plenty of handbrake! I think this is a bug but in real life it occasionally happens to the best of them so I'm not sure. I plan on doing a video showing the new Finnish stages that have been recently added which shows how busy it gets inside the car as the stages are very technical and very fast. The game is another great example of an early access/alpha game which us being created by a development team who work very closely with their fans to update the game based on their feedback and to give them what they want with regards to content. Minia 1,211 #5 Posted October 12, 2015 Driving games are always better with a wheel, however 2 G27 wheels broke on me within 5 months. I couldn't be arsed to get a third. Maybe the G29 is more reliable.

The car is one of my favourites from the Group B era, the Open Manta 400. Driving games are always better with a wheel, however 2 G27 wheels broke on me within 5 months. I couldn't be arsed to get a third. Maybe the G29 is more reliable.I'll probably not bother getting a wheel but if any game deserved it this game does. Some of the rigs people have set up are insane...they're more like professional training rigs.I am hoping they eventually put in the Talbot Lotus Sunbeam in factory team colours. Once they have that, with the Peugeot 205 T16, Lancia 037, Lancia S4, Lancia HF Integrale, the Manta and the Audi I'm very happy. I've only tried driving the T16 once or twice. As in real life it's bat shit crazy to control so I need more practice first. The turbocharger on that thing is fucking nuts. One of 200 they made was sold at Sotherbys last year, with only 1700km on the clock in mint condition for £156,800. Someone with a few quid to spend got very lucky. http://www.rmsothebys.com/lf14/london/lots/1984-peugeot-205-turbo-16/1068244 Edited October 12, 2015 by fever

I think this is a bug but in real life it occasionally happens to the best of them so I'm not sure. It turns out this is not a bug as such but is due to the pace notes being delivered at three speeds depending on your speed from the previous section...so if you go extremely slowly, like walking pace and then the extremely fast (think hitting the rev limiter in a high gear) it can get confused and you get the note slightly too late so you have to ninja it to not crash. Apparently the notes in the game are as a guide, rather than to be used as they would be in real life, probably for this very reason.
fever 9,884 #9 Posted October 16, 2015 I promised a video of one of the new stages in Finland and here it is. I did about 6 (honest) practice runs before I had a reasonable one. Once again it is in the awesome Opel Manta 400. Excuse the driver coughing at the start xD A busy stage, enjoy
