Officially licensed Lotus Clan Team

Question

Looks like we have plenty of North Americans now. Is there anyone interested in getting together for regular games (for fun at first) in the attempt at making a working Highlander team? My body is ready.

It would be fun. Since I'm guessing we'd be in Iron, I could play Demo.

I've heard that Lotus is equal to silver, but iron would be a good place to start.

I'm looking to play Spy. I've been working on my skillz, but I will need to spend time on calling out player positions and timing saps and stabs for maximum benefit.

I think this would be fun. Count me in. I'm open to just about any class, except spy, nonononononono.

Participation in Dota is heresy; the pure of mind and spirit play TF2.

Grab some people from your side of this mudball and we'll fight for dominance? Competitive play requires the least amount of lag possible, so unfortunately it wouldn't be the best idea to have a team from mixed countries. I wish that this wasn't a factor, and it might not be if you have super-duper Internet, but my Internet is made out of cheese doodles.

My idea was that we'd just kind of start off meeting on Lotus servers and kicking each other around for a bit to see who's really serious about showing up, and then just take it from there. Ease into it. Start with regular meets for playtime, then decide who should play what classes, followed by working on some basic strats while in pubs. We'd move into TF2C for lobbies after that for a bit so that everyone gets really familiar with the maps and our chosen strategies and work out the kinks in our voice chat and whatnot. Finally we'll join as an official team and kick the crap out of everyone. Luop is way more familiar with how this should be done than I am, but I'm hoping that we can grow some wings before jumping out of the nest.

Perfect! I thought your profile said Russia before, but I guess I was imagining things?  ;)

I like that idea.

I think we should set up a chart/table of some sort indicating class - and the associated Member/Regular, possible times for the "fun practices" and so on.

I'm fairly certain everyone can show commitment but time constraints might be the only viable factor.

Can back up all classes if you're missing someone.

I would recommend scrims over lobbies, the reason being that there will most definitely be less gimmicks and you can choose to play against iron teams instead of getting a team that has mixed ability players.

It is also 10x better than practising strats on pubs too, because it will be completely different doing strats against x amount of uncoordinated players that (maybe) aren't playing as seriously as you, and have multiple people playing the same class. By all means practice aim and stuff there though.
