Griefing

I was on dustbowl today and about 4 engies set up outside of spawn and loaded up on sentries in an inapropriate place. The others said they were griefing? 3 out of 4 of them we banned and the last got away. Is this a bannable offense like cheating? It was really stupid and we still won the map..... a bunch of 10 year olds maybe?

Griefing is not the same thing as cheating but if someone's playing like a total dumb fuck they deserve to be kicked off the server, whether it be a votekick or a voteban. Same goes for engineers who build illogical backwards teleporters on offensive maps and heavies who sit in the spawn eating sandviches for the entire round.,

I have seen the sentry under the stair thing that makes you have to commit suicide because you can't move and the heavy thing, but this was differet. It was like a virus of guys swarming to a team to make them lose. Like random fucktards that want to see people get pissed.One of the guys on our team said that is was becoming "a thing" and was surprised that I had not seen it.

This happened on one of the servers once a long time ago. It was only two or three of them, but they were obviously trying to be unhelpful, admitting purposeful dickery.

I forgot their names, but they seemed to have a clan tag. Do you remember what their IGN's were, or have screenshots?

I've gotten an asshole banned for building a tele underneath the left hand platform in a way that nobody could get out, on goldrush 1.

A "griefer" is "a player who plays a game simply to aggravate and harass other players." Essentially, the kind of player who, when playing on offense on Badwater Basin, builds a teleporter from the second spawn (the one near the second point) to the first spawn, forcing offensive players to walk all the way across the map to get to the battle. They are assholes whose only reason for playing is to make everyone else's game less enjoyable, and thus they deserve permabanning.

Griefers are usually above average players since you obviously have to know the map pretty well to know where to grief.
