Ban Reason: Donation Abuse

Summary of Events (Facts Only):

1. Been in the game for 1 hour

2. ae Dave joins the game and starts talking

3. I complain about his excessive talking

4. Within 10 seconds of him joining, he vote mutes me and has his ae clan members all vote so I was successfully muted.

5. Unable to talk to my medic, I rejoin server. Was vote muted by Dave again.

6. I rejoin for the second time. Switched to the other team and asked my medic to switch sides.

7. In order to prevent Dave from initiating more vote mutes, I vote muted him in attempts to nullify the vote mute timer. I did this 15-20 times only to Dave.

Was I hacking?

Was I spamming the mic?

Was I blatantly disprespecting the server?

Petition from actual Dustbowl Regulars and Lotus Clan Members I have known for almost a year and a half.

Hello, its teli here and I wanted to tell you guys that I think you should think this over because I was his medic and I saw the whole thing, and had to switch teams numerously because of votemute or whatever, and I couldnt hear him. So, I was his medic the whole time and You suck got muted atleast twice, so I had to switch teams around three times. I saw that when Dave votemuted someone who whole ae clan voted you suck out because they have over 4-5 people on at once and for a votemute thats alot.

Wait, so who am I going to heal in Dustbowl now?

Hmm...in my opinion guys he dosent really deserve it. I mean sometimes he can go over the top, but for the most part he is not a bad player and the votemutes usually mean nothing. They should modify the server so it requires more than 1 person to start a votemute...although that is a donator power. But permabanned? No.

I didn't read this thread because it is irrelevant. Banning yousuck because he makes people rage is ridiculous. Hell just tonight I made the entire server on Stack 1 hate me (ask Spartan). Not like I give a shit but if making people who suck more at this game than me get angry is a reason to ban then shit, I should have been banned a year ago. I mean, I know everyone loves me, but I can sense some sort of sick, deranged hidden rage against me by some disturbed individuals because I have more skill than them. Of course they blame it on having a medic but no one listens to that bullshit because if they didn't suck cock they would have a medic for themselves (see how much I care about you and your complaints). Talk about circular logic. They are angry and can't think logically. Not my fault I'm better than them all at TF2, but I don't blame them, I barely have time for the game with things going on IRL. I would make up bullshit excuses if I got raped by someone as good as me, especially if I have never left mom's basement and got owned by some guy who has a life and is awesome. I would be screaming at the monitor all day, because TF2 is my whole life. I mean I totally care what happens on the internet.

So in closing I would just like to say, they all suck, and go ahead and ragequit because I don't care about you and no one else does.

If i could throw my opinion in as a regular on the Dustbowl server, i say he should be unbanned. For the most part, he is a good player, and from when i played with him, rarely goes on rants. We usually just have fun playing, regardless of our teams. Think the server would be alot better if people stopped taking stuff like this so personnaly.

It seems that every time I go on a trip, something happens.

Though, I have to agree with Keg on this, I've personally never had any problems with Yousuck, he's just brutally honest. If you're doing something wrong, he'll call you out on it.

You have played on dustbowl with me for less than 3 hours. Obviously your experience are limited and you are making a broad generalization. Your generalizations come from the forums, not the server. Clearly the regulars who I have played 50-130 hours with me beg to differ. Not a single clan member that has known me for more than a year has an issue with me. Furthermore, the demo you captured + you joined after the initial incident where Dave initiated the vote mute on me first.

I never jump to degradation first. I give the advice for game play first and always first. If it leads down the wrong path, its always due to lack of team play on their part. If we have 5 scouts on our team scoring nothing for the whole round, I don't have a right to make a comment?

I didn't know you can wear someone out from words on a forum or in a game. Solution? If you don't like me, don't read my post. If you dont like me, don't join my game. Its funny you smurfed a different name "L-r | Hal Kryon" or something to that extent and intentionally joined my game. You had the intention of getting me banned from the start regardless. It was obvious from the demo you were joining with the intention of getting me banned from the start. If you had an issue with me, you could have brought it up to my attention earlier. You never did. Not once.

1. I dont troll in game. I play to win. I avoid typing or talking if unnecessary. It takes away my fingers. I only talk if I think the added benefit of communication exceeds the penalty for pausing.

2. My posts are always the most interesting ones. Just look at the view counts. Surely, people don't like viewing posts they don't like right?

3. We had a huge insurgence of new recruits, they don't understand the dynamics and background of the forum. They challenge me on issues that they don't understand where as the original members know me very well that I will call out bs.

4. I missed out on some of the practices because my computer got broken in a car crash. Not much I can do there. Even when I had to pick up someone from the airport, I still stayed as late as possible in last weeks practice.

Two reasons you did this. Either you truely didnt want to hear Dave, by that you admit he was a douche and therefore my votemutes were justified. OR, that expected them to win, and didn't want them to sound like an ass in the end, therefore keeping the demo clean for their team, which would support your ban request. 1. Not everyone is going want to heal you all the time. When I play with Keg and Miyari, it is understandable I dont get any heal from her. Some times you just have to deal with it, or make friends with your own medics.

2. I would rather play with someone who is good even if I don't like them personally. If you needed a medic and asked me nicely, hell, I am sure I have done that since I have done plenty of times for better demomen.

3. The votemute was absolutely justified. If I didnt vote mute, what is to prevent Dave from doing it to me? The difference is, he actually has a stacked of ae members that would press "yes" for no reason and I would actually get muted where as mine had no effect.

At first when I started to play with you, you were okay. You are a good demo who knows what you are doing. But then for about a 20 minute period, you do not call for any vote mutes. In order for Dave to not mute you, you need to keep on calling for vote mutes, not stopping for 20 minutes. In this 20 minutes Dave could have called for a vote mute because you weren't nullifying the timer. This is the part I do not get in your excuse.

Are you surprised I was actually focusing on the game? I don't have a digital timer in my brain of when the votemute cool-down is over. As good as I am, I am not that good at multitasking. Do you know how hard it was to carry that team I was on? Your team had 10+ regulars. Mine had 2-3. I had to play my ass off. So Dave vote muted me, I owned him with a shitty team. I got my payback the legit way.

The average person is VERY stupid. 50% never make it to college. The average IQ is 100. And even among people applying to medical school, the average MCAT score is 24/45. And when you are in TF2, you are in a place of above average stupid people. Why else would you see 5 snipers on the same team doing jack squat? Its fun aiming and killing nothing?

To me, humility matters to my fellow employees, engineers, colleagues, and professors. I don't need to be humble to a buncha newb TF2 14 year olds.

Changing the subject here. Personality, arrogance, popularity are NOT reasons for BANS. As far as server rules go the only concrete one are as follows:

1. Hacking

2. Spamming

From what Josh implied, even porn sprays are not bannable, which I have seen plenty of other players do but are never banned. Vote muting is not a bannable reason. Especially since I was never the first to initiate it. If talking a lot is a bannable offense, there are plenty of other people who talk FARRRR more.

If Mana/Josh would like to update the server rules. I am willing to oblige 100%.
