More Hats...just What We Need. *sigh*

I can't see how they can up it to 27 hats and not raise the drop rate. Its just plain ridiculous how rare a hat find is. Also I'll take a soldier hat please ;) a few others I want, I don't need them all.

This is Valve we're talking about. They could easily add the hats and not increase the drop rate, especially if they implement trading. I honestly hope that they do increase the drop rate, tho.

Yeah, I think the hats are going to turn in to a distraction, the more 'creative' they get.

I wouldn't mind if I was the one wearing it, but since it's most likely going to be the other way around...sad face.

Which is why I'm hoping they don't go too far overboard if these hats are a hit, and make more. Because there is funny, creative, and cute; then there is too much to handle in game.

After this update I honestly think this should be, in my opinion at least, the last 'fashionable' update, lest they supply us with new costumes. However, I rather like the ones we have now.

Gonna be interesting seeing how the spy plays now. A lot of changes to him. They messed with the two alternate watches. CnD and DR charge in 11 seconds now, but the DR only lasts 4 seconds, though if you pick up ammo you can still stay cloaked and invincible for the old 6.5ish.

The teleport changes were mentioned already here. I think it's a bit of an advantage to the engineer. Before, a spy who made it to spawn had free teleport kills if no engy spawned in the next 5 or so seconds. Now the engineer can stave off the spy as long as anyone spawns in that time. Also, while it leaves him vulnerable to losing both when he isn't at one of them, he can also save the other one if it comes under light fire - meaning, for example, those tele entrances on the second spawn of granary are a whole lot simpler to save.

I'm kind of curious about the on-hit thing. What effects are going to continue, and what aren't? I assume he will continue to burn. Will he be slowed by Natascha? Or is it just the blut and ubersaw that are affected?

And if you haven't noticed, I haven't mentioned the hats yet. That's probably because I still don't have any of the originals, so adding new ones is the same as offering a slightly different lottery jackpot. Sure, the jackpot might be higher or lower, or slightly better odds, but it doesn't matter because I WILL NEVER WIN ONE.

The on-hit deal makes it to where a medic can't tell if the person he's hitting with the blutsauger is a spy or not (the +3 notification doesn't show). However, I do enjoy the cloak fix, which allows a spy to cloak in front of a sentry gun and lose the "lock." The Dead Ringer fix is welcome, as it was ridiculous to walk cloaked, where bumping into an enemy wouldn't lose half the cloak, for 8 or so seconds, be able to pick up ammo for cloak time, and stand next to a dispenser while cloaked for as long as no one detected you. And that sentence just had comma cancer. I enjoy the tele fix from an engineering perspective, as I can disable a sapper that's on my entrance (which is also technically on my exit as well), crippling Mojo's camping the teleporter tactic. As a Spy, well, now I have to work for the tele sap, as I have to teleport in behind the engi, backstab him, then sap all of his crap. And people won't be able to teleport in to help him. And if I do die but successfully sap his entrance/exit, I get two more saps towards Sapoteur.

Don't know how credible you find the steam forums, but according to this thread, ubersawing disguised spies, even ones disguised as their own team, doesn't generate ubercharge unless it kills them. Also, apparently Natasha doesn't slow spies.

Changed "The Big Hurt" Scout achievement to be "Stun 2 Medics that are ready to deploy an UberCharge."

This is all correct. AND FUCKING RETARDED. You no longer get Ubercharge % from melee on disguised spies, only from the killing blow.

HELL, WHY SHOULD YOU GET WHAT'S ACTUALLY ON THE WEAPON'S DESCRIPTION? I MEAN, THAT WOULD TOTALLY BE OVERPOWERED AND COMPLETELY UNBALANCE THE CLASS AGAINST THE WAVES OF SHITTY SPIES THAT COME AFTER YOU GET A COUPLE DOMINATIONS.

Miyari, in all fairness, given the fact that you mow through spies like a hot knife through butter, it's really just Valve balancing out the fact that you could probably sustain an infinite ubercharge anytime I'm on the opposite team.

I do think it's incredibly dumb that you don't get uber for whacking blue spies disguised as, say, blue soldiers or whatever. It's pretty obvious they are enemies, so can't think of a reason why they don't give uber. I can understand not getting +3 health from the blut for regular spychecks - it's not hard to spycheck anyway, and medics do not have spychecking as a major role, just an obstacle, so they shouldn't get a free ranged spycheck. That said, sawing a potential spy is a real risk due to facestabs, a quick turn, or even just a bad lag spike, and at that range you are basically already contact spychecking anyway, so I think the 25% uber should stay.

Do you guy's think that a lot of these changes were made for better competetive play? The sandman was one of their biggest complaints and it was modified. I wonder how many of these other changes were implemented to better the competetive community?

The other thing that annoys me about this update is the teamwide crit bonus you get when you cap the intel. I tend to play stocks 2, so nobody on the other side has any chance of crits, so it's 10 seconds of hoping nothing significant hits you. And while I realize that yes, you can kill them (I even got a few while getting steamrolled in turbine yesterday), odds are very good it's one and done if they other team has anybody with any skill near you.

I understand why it's in there - it helps break up those 2fort stalemates when some guy finally caps the intel for the first time 48 minutes into the map, but against a team with coordination, it just makes them steamroll that much faster. It also promotes spawn camping, which I can normally tolerate - after all, if you let them camp you, you deserve it. I'm a little less sympathetic when there's a demoman standing on the other side of the glass with guaranteed crit stickies. I remember shaking my fist, looking to the sky, Colbert-style. LUNCHBOX!!!

I think it's pretty fucking stupid, too, actually. So great job, your team captured the intelligence. Now now only are you winning enough to be succesfully capturing the intelligence, now you can have 10 more seconds of fucking the other team over and on almost any map other than 2Fort possibly even start another Intelligence grab. It's entirely pointless and seems totally against the fundamentals of the game. The strong get stronger and the weak get crit rocketed? Personally I'd like to at least see the Intelligence-based Critical Boost disabled on Stock Maps #2, AT LEAST. I understand they aren't exactly RANDOM criticals, so it's not exactly the same way, but they're still pretty fucking stupid. Did Valve make it possible to be disabled?
