cptheslayer 2 #1 Posted December 15, 2006 1. Just play BR massing each unit type (try all types of units). 2. Think of your tactics and strat (now you can use a variety of units) 3. As now you see that you suck, start reading BR stories and learn about their past. Then read about each unit''s strength and weakness. 4. Learn to make counter units. 5. Learn to build your buildings in a way that gives you high defense and easy for you to attack your enemy that lined up nearby your base. That is, your army can attack more safely from inside your base. Building structure is important because it gives you good defense, faster training, get resources more efficiently. 6. When the time is proper, build a second set of training buildings. Build as many huts as you can after you have every building. 7. Always build more than one base if you can. So, you can surprise your enemy while he or she puts all his or her force attacking one of your base, you can destroy his or her base. 8. Learn to makr army formations. 9. Learn to use BG's. 10. Use shift+alt key. 11. Use ctrl+alt key. 12. Use hot keys. 13. Now, after you know all of the above, learn to be fast (traning and thinking and planning). Each of the above will be emphasized later when I come back. Note: if you do all the above well and you still lose, then my advice is to NO CPTHESLAYER!!! -Futs
{Dark}KaBuKI 2 #2 Posted January 22, 2007 10. Use shift+alt key.11. Use ctrl+alt key. 12. Use hot keys. This really sucks to build buildings and stuff i prefer using mouse, the only hot keys i use is to put units in groups, B, F1, and a few more.
cptheslayer 2 #3 Posted January 23, 2007 Kabukie, I only use hotkey B and the group hotkeys. But i also use shift and ctrl keys to gain time and gain better command.

I used to use those keys, now I can build without clicking on anything except placing a building in the right place efficiently
Yoggle 0 #5 Posted January 28, 2007 With the formations do you just put the unit in a place around the onther unit?
cptheslayer 2 #6 Posted January 28, 2007 no. There are many formatoins. Each one is good depending upon the situation. A troop of 5 with good formation can kill a troop of 10 with bad formation. Formations are very important for range users.
Yoggle 0 #7 Posted January 29, 2007 how do i do it then?
Speedy 11 #8 Posted January 29, 2007 Example: 10 Whirling Spear against 20 Snipers. If the Snipers are in the default formation, they are tightly packed together and the 10 Spearmen would easily beat them. But if you were to positon the Snipers in a spread out formation (not tightly packed together) the Spearmen would kill little or no Snipers with their battle gear, leaving them at the mercy of the Snipes. (The Snipers would win easily) Another example: 10 Serpent Cannoneers versus 10 Serpent Cannoneers. Player1 Positons his Cannons in a line because he knows that the enemy cannonballs will pass through his units and deal double damage if they have someone behind them. Player2 On the other hand doesn't give a shit about formations and his army gets massacred.
Izaak 3 #9 Posted January 29, 2007 Also take note: some of your units might ignore enemies around them. In which case you should order them to STOP, forcing them to take note of the situation around them. I lost many battles by that. -Izaak, Lord of the Lotus Clan. {Dark}CoolGuy 1 #15 Posted January 30, 2007 my best tip would be just give it what you got, even though i mostly lose nowdays.
Yoggle 0 #16 Posted January 30, 2007 lol, why would you lose?
Sinophile 41 #17 Posted January 30, 2007 There is no such button, but it would be good if there was. In my opinion having the stance buttons would suck. Then Battle Realms would be like Age of Empires II: Little to no micromangement involved. I like micromanagement.
Speedy 11 #18 Posted January 30, 2007 You're right, actually I'll change my mind on that one.
