Br Tournament 2008

Ok it looks as if some people want another tournament. I have decided I will make another tourney for the summer again. This one will be 1v1 just like the other ones. The tournament won't start until somewhere near the end of June or maybe even early July so, people that don't play until the summer can get a chance to join. I am going to go with a different style this time though.

This time if you are going to forfeit or drop out somewhere in the tournament then don't even bother joining, this seemed to a problem in the last couple tournaments. However, this time more time will be given to people to play their matches so people won't feel like they're being rushed and people in different time zones can have more time to complete their matches. Judges are not a necessity anymore either, this should make playing games easier but if one is around then let him/her join. Screenshots will have to be taken however if no judge is involved. If the person you are playing against can't be trusted then get a judge. But besides from that the rules from last time will be the same(Rules)

I'm open for new ideas so, feel free to say them.

The Rules:

1. All 1v1 battles will take place in Freedom, if both agree on a different map then it can be changed.

2. All 2v2 battles will take place in Valley of Death or Twisted Fate, both are considered tournament maps. Same thing applies for 2v2 maps too, if all agree on a different map then it can be changed.

3. No random will be allowed; for certain fighting and bugging reasons.

4. Judges are highly suggested, and mandatory if one is available. If the Judge cheats for some odd reason then he will be disqualified from all of his matches and be kicked out as a Judge. Anyone who is part of the forums can be a judge.

5. There has to be at least one Judge per match for the match to count unless, both trust one another and agree upon not having a Judge.

6. It is mandatory for the Final Four matches and the Finals to have at least one Judge.

7. Cheating is not allowed. All cheaters will be disqualified and will be kicked out of future tournaments if there is any. This includes the abuse of unfair bugs.

8. You don't have to follow assigned times. If you can get the game in then play it.

9. If you win a match a screenshot should be taken for proof. Judges should take the screenshots but the players can too. Videos are also legitimate.

10. Observers are allowed. It is up to the players to decide if they want any though.

11. The 1v1 tournament is best 2 out of 3.

12. The 2v2 tournament is best 2 out of 3.

13. You must be a member of the forums to play in the tournament.

14. If you have an extra host in your match then for 1v1 play Valley of Death. For 2v2 play Survival or Rumble in the Rocks.

15. If you delay the tournament you will be removed from the tournament and you will be considered as Delay of Tournament.

16. You may not use the same clan two games in a row.

Just 1v1, 2v2s have not worked in the past but if you want to try and make one go for it. I will just be making a 1v1 tournament.

Ok, I'm going to make the deadline June 29th, that's the last day anyone can join. I am sure that's enough time. That's near the beginning of summer and everyone who wants to join will have had their chance by then. If you said you are going to join and now aren't please repost and say so. I don't want to put you in the tournament and then find out you don't want to play in it anymore.

suggestion: each player can choose to play each clan exactly once. This will show the over all skills. and the purpose of the tournament is to see that.

i think 2v2 is more fun. But for the heck of it. count me out first then count me in.

We should have 2v2 tourney also. Make deadlines for each match. If the match is not played. then most active team wins and moves on. same in 1v1 tourney. This way will not delay the tourney. well, you may say it is not fair. But if you are responsible enough to join this touney, why not responsible to make the game run smoothly.

I'm not going to make a 2v2 tournament but if you want to make one go ahead.

About having each player playing each clan exactly once. It could be a good idea but I don't think it would work for this tournament. There will be more than 4 matches if you win the first two rounds and even in the second round if you lost once in the first round you could get to your 5th match. But if you restart after you play your first 4 matches with each clan that could work. But it would be hard to keep track of what clan everyone uses and how many times they have used each clan. I would say if this was a bigger tournament with a more active community then yes but this would be very hard to make work and could slow down the tournament a lot. Also, a lotus vs dragon match up might end up happening in one of the later rounds and that wouldn't be very fair to the people who got that far because with two advanced players the lotus would pretty much win without having to try at all. Thats just my stake on it, other people may think differently. If enough people want to do it this way then I'd say yes but I would say no personally.
