Question About Strange Parts

Recommended Posts

So...I already have 3 strange parts on my degreaser. However, I would like to add another part and remove one of the current parts. Does anyone know how this works? Do I have to remove all three? Or can I choose which one gets removed? If you know, please let me know.

Would it give you a confirmation before going ahead and deleting the individual part? If so, you could try that way. I checked the official wiki and it didn't say much.

Up to three Strange Parts can be applied onto one Strange weapon. Certain Strange Parts cannot be used on certain weapons; for example, the Headshot tool cannot be used on a Strange Wrench. When applied, it will not count any previous stats. Strange Parts can be removed from a weapon using the Restore button in the backpack; however, a part which has been removed will not be returned to the player, and instead will be permanently lost.

The only way you can remove the part is by restoring your weapon and I believe it will ask you to get rid of your last part first.

Pathala is ritght.

Everytime you "restore" it will remove one of you parts on the weapon. lets say you have added these parts in this order on your strange weapon:

1 projectiles deflected

2 posthumus kills

3 cloaked spys killed

If you want to change your posthumus kills on it, you will have to remove / restore "twice", and your "cloaked spys" will also be lost / removed.

Thank you for all your help. This is sort of depressing though.

I believe you can choose which part comes off, just click restore and it asks you if you want to remove each part individually, not the last part.

Last time i tried it, it worked the way bloody explained it.

But it is a costly thing to try, therefore i won't try again.

Okay...update.

Yes, if you click restore, it will ask you do you want to remove "X" part or keep it.

So for example, when I clicked restore it asked me if I wanted to remove the allies extinguished part or keep it. I choose to keep it and removed the next part. Thanks for all your help and hopefully this helps some other poor soul. :)

I'm glad you got things figured out but it looks like Valve also noticed this concern and fixed it in today's update.

Team Fortress 2

  • Fixed a common "FindModel" crash for replays
  • Fixed the Crafty Hair not using styles for the yellow and brown hair
  • Improved the "Restore" UI for customizing items in backpack
  • Fixed floating arrows on carried objects
  • Mann vs. Machine

Obvi had the idea for a list of answers to FAQs or problems people have come across where they found the answer.  I'll update the OP with them.

Refilling Health and Mana quickly at the fountain
As soon as you enter the fountain area to replenish your health and mana, move all items which increase your health or mana (including strength and intelligence stat increase items) in your inventory to your stash.  This puts your mana and health down to its much lower base levels.  Then when you're fully replenished just add the items back into your inventory from your stash and see your mana/health capacity and levels jump up saving you valuable time.  When you add items which increase your health or mana and your health and mana are already full, the increase in health and mana is always automatically filled up to its new higher capacity.

Arcane Boot/Soul Ring extra mana trick
This works using the same principle as the "Refilling Health and Mana quickly at the fountain" trick mentioned above and tread switching.  Just drop your intelligence stat increase items or items which increase your mana capacity before using the boots or ring and then pick them up afterwards to increase the effectiveness of your boots/ring.  It can make the difference between being able to use one ability or a combo so it's worth doing.  Note, don't try this if there are enemy close by or invis heros on the enemy team.  They could snipe your items.

Empty bottle/ally teleporting from fountain trick
If an ally has teleported to you from the fountain they are still affected by the regeneration bonus for several seconds.  If you quickly give them an empty bottle it will be refilled instantly.  This video shows this and other useful bottle techniques.

      Drop tranquils whilst jungling
If you bought tranquils, providing there are no invis heros or people missing on the map you can drop your tranquils whilst clear a camp so that when you pick them back up again they instantly start to heal you.

Hi, My name is Chris P. Lettuce here and on steam, and I was banned last week from one of the High tower servers that i regularly visit. I was given absolutely no warning, and received no messages after my ban. All I could think of is two guys on the other team wanted to use only snipers, no one was doing it, i was a pyro, and then I was banned. I was wondering If I could please be un-banned?

If you've bought the excellent "Banished" and would like help with it, give me a shout as I've got a reasonable understanding of the game mechanics. It can be tricky getting going as although the game looks very much like other similar games, it's not and playing it like you have played other games can make things go tits up pretty quickly.
      It's an awesome game.

I reported a player for racism on a server, and uploaded proof. An admin, "blebs", tried to help and ban the player. Unfortunately, the player changed his name to something similar to mine, and I was kicked. After rejoining, I was votebanned by the player I reported. Any help for me on the mods part?
