Don't see why HXH (2011) is considered god tier

I may be wrong, but I think you may be referring to my scoring scale and to the score, me and so many people, give Hunter x Hunter (2011), in this case, a 10/10, personally I wouldn't give this score if I wasn't able to justify it.

Well first of all, the "Tier" levels are something personal, it's just something I use to guide myself when scoring anime, in this case I divide the 10 usual scores (1 to 10) in 5 levels ("Please make it stop!", low, medium, high and elite) nothing for you to worry about here.

So, first of all, let's talk about the infamous and controversial 10/10 score, most people believe this score indicates something that is a masterpiece/ perfect/ flawless, I don't agree with such thing, nothing is perfect, for me a 10/10 which I put in the Elite Tier (not God Tier) stands for a fantastic anime, but that is still, not devout out of faults, but such faults are minor and do not affect the overall quality of the anime.

So if you don't mind, I would like to rephrase your statement and change it into the form of a question.

Why do so many people give Hunter x Hunter (2011) a 10/10?

If we think about it HxH is a bit deceptive, it starts as a kids show and concludes with arcs about genocide and political corruption. It’s yet another battle shounen series, but the heroes can and will fail when facing other opponents. The cruel and vile are allowed slivers of humanity and the most likable, sympathetic characters are allowed their moments of darkness. HxH keeps the viewers on their toes not for the sake of doing so, but because it truly understands what is humanity truly is, both the good and the bad.

What makes the "drama" in HxH so great,  it's understanding these characters and what drives them. Let's take a look at Gon for example, Gon starts as as your stereotypical shounen protagonist, happy, full of energy and ready for adventure, he can be mature and friendly, but we can't forget that he's a 12 year old and he will approach situations as such. This results in setting realistic goals for himself because he knows is own limitations, other times his naivety leads to dire consequences. What gives these actions, and the actions of others, such impact, is how others may view them.

This means we have to talk about other character, Killua, Gon meets this child assassin early in the series, and quickly they become friends, and through having someone who treats him with kindness, Killiua gets more in touch with his own humanity. So when Killua sees Gon's naivety crumble under the harsh weight of the world, there's almost an overwhelming gravity to it, because of how much Killua growth has been affected by Gon.

This sort of drama happens frequently, because HxH takes the time to establish not only relationships but also connections. Even the characters that appear for a relatively brief time get some sort of context for how they they relate to the protagonists and this makes drama involving them all the more real. Is very rare to see a character who feels like a one-off who doesn’t matter and then realize how they affect the people around them, even if it’s in just a slight way.

This is important, especially since each arc of HxH is so radically different from the others. One is a straightforward tournament arc. Another is a crime thriller. Another is literally a big game. Another is basically a bite-sized war. They all differ greatly in tone but also in direction. What keeps the arcs from feeling like they all spring from different series is those human relationships I just mentioned. They keep the show feeling more like a journey than a compilation of cool stories.

For anyone that likes action, HxH also nails it, the show does take a while to find is own rhythm, but once it does, it’s excellent. What makes Hunter x Hunter battles so interesting is that the enemies are almost always far stronger than the protagonists. That forces them to keep their goals realistic (“Land one punch!â€, “Stay alive!â€,etc) - and find clever ways to get things done. Because the character drama is consistently excellent, the actual battles always mean that much more. It’s not simply a test to see who’s stronger (though those certainly exist) they are fights with tangible stakes to them. The cherry on top is the work of Madhouse studio when it comes to the fights. Big battles rarely disappoint: the animation is fluid, precise and on point, the shots are framed in compelling ways that emphasize the story of each fight, and the choreography has an excellent sense of flow and movement that establishes a solid rhythm.

It’s unusual for an anime to go on for this long and stay consistently good in nearly every facet - story, characters, animation. And this is why, me and so many people, give Hunter x Hunter a 10/10.

Dear god, this is a big wall of text, sorry about that...

There's so much more I could talk about but I think I already wrote more than enough.

I must remind you that this just my opinion, and as such you should take it with a grain of salt. Like everything in life, you are entitled to your own opinions and beliefs, and as such you don't have to agree with nothing of what I just stated.

thank you for explaining why so many people like it, i should of worded my question in a less subjective way.

Got that 60fps anime up and running boys. There was a bug though that caused my pc to run at an absurdly high frame rate that everything was in slow motion (1000+ fps in tf2 with everything maxed). I think my gpu might have died a little

Sorry but 60fps anime is just a ridiculous concept people have created, this is not a game we are talking about here, we are talking about animation frame shots, not movement of polygons, you're basically just speeding up the frames by milliseconds not increasing them, let me explain:

-Anime is made and runs at an average of 24fps

-Main objects/characters are animated at 8 to 12fps

-Background objects/characters are animated at 6 to 8fps

Take a look at the example:

tumblr_inline_mlrxbt43o51qz4rgp.png

9 shots/frames = 1 second

Do you really need to scale this?

And that 's why I believe real 60fps anime will never be a occurring thing.

Sorry if it sounded like a rant... ^_^

It's true. You don't need a monster machine to watch anime lol.

24 fps is enough to be fluid to watch shows.

Source engine can't really handle 1000+ fps all that well.
