You haven't led me wrong yet! Oh the infamous "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" (long light novel titles FTW), yeah the title it's a little misleading... Honest opinion? Don't waste your time with it, characters are average and cliched, soundtrack is average, animation is inconsistent and the story is incomplete; with some roughly explained background information but still well planned enough for 13 eps, it has some cool fights and is entertaining enough, but I wouldn't say is worth 4 hours of your precious time, there were better shows last season. I give the show a 5/10 (average) and I classify it as plain bread, it will fill you up, but in the end you'll still think "meh, it was just bread, I want something better". 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
AIex 1,292 #1360 Posted July 26, 2015 After the 3 episode mark here are my opinions on what i am watching this season Gintama - it's gintama, it's good and has a higher budget now. Gangsta - Show's silly, nothing special but nothing bad either. Animation is a bit weird in places but world setting is amazing and i'm in it. Prison school - Fat titties, also show is pretty funny if you get past the titties. Shimoneta - Meh, funny at places but it's aimed at 13 year old boys who don't know that porn is on the internet. DRRR: Shows just like the season before it, if you like it then you like it God eater: Guilty gear Xrd intro animations on the ps4 got their own show, pretty bored of it Charlotte: Lelouch got better animation and isn't ruled by the British, shows really good, it's got a angel beats vibe going on Would recommend: Gangsta, Charlotte and Gintama (if you watched the previous like 250+ eps) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ultr@BUNNY 8,565 #1361 Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) Well, I will also put my opinions here, only new anime, so no Arslan Senki, Gintama, My Love Story, etc, I haven't reached the episode 3 of some shows because I'm still waiting for proper fansubs... Let's start: Snow White with the Red Hair- Gives me a Studio Ghibli vibe, that's very good, strong willed and determined female character, still not sure about the male prince character, great animation and art done by Studio Bones, also good soundtrack. Charlotte- Basically Angel Beats, this is both good and bad, shares the same good animation and soundtrack from Angel Beats, but the Comedy/ Drama balance it's once again off putting and badly constructed, characters seem worse this time around, but still too soon to tell. Durarara!!x2 Ten- 2nd Cour of the second season, will most likely continue with the same level of quality. School Life- Remember Madoka Magica? Now substitute the magical girls theme for zombies, there you go. Good art and animation direction, interesting story design and characters, can still flop, too soon to tell. Gangsta- Still too soon to tell, at least for me, totally depends how the show will deal with these themes and these characters, good animation and soundtrack. Gatchaman Crowds Insight- Introduction of new "gimmicks" to the Gatchaman formula, once again great art direction and soundtrack, hopefully a step up from the 1st season. GATE- Interesting blend of Military and Fantasy, enjoyable to watch, good animation, still not sure about the soundtrack, story direction and characters, time will tell. God Eater- Remarkable watercolor art style, and great animation, once again kudos to Ufotable, good soundtrack, story and characters on the other end...rather cliched to say the least, your average game to anime storyline, but still enjoyable and entertaining nevertheless. Best OP of the season. Non Non Biyori Repeat- The title says it all, Non Non Biyori again, "If ain't broken don't fix it", if you liked Non Non Biyori 1st Season you will also like this one. Prison School- Surprisingly funny for an ecchi anime, dialogue and characters reactions and great so far, interesting concept and art direction, average soundtrack. Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace- I don't even know where to start with this one...let's see we have a trap main character, dark humor, ridiculous easy mysteries but the backstory behind each one can be quite interesting and dark, unconventional presentation and art, solid animation and soundtrack, may improve or get worse. Best ED of the season. Shimoneta - Totally depends on your sense of humor, it revolves around sex humor, so if it isn't your type of humor stay away. Story, characters, animation and soundtrack are acceptable for this type of anime. Working!!! - If you liked 1st and 2nd season of Working! you will also like this one, same level of quality. At this point, the only one I could recommend, according to my standards, apart from sequels, is Snow White with the Red Hair (Akagami no Shirayuki-hime).
