Ruby 9,039 #1 Posted March 27, 2013 Welcome to LotusCraft! (yes, I'm unoriginal like that) We're currently running Minecraft 1.4.7 with FTB Ultimate (IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, Forestry, Thaumcraft + dozens of other mods). The server is currently stable. IP: s4.minecraft-infinity.com:25659 View our server map! (Updated daily) A few notes before we start: The server is whitelisted. I'm currently allowing only Lotus Recruits and Members and their friends to be a part of the server. To get in (as a Lotus member) simply post your Minecraft Ingame Name here or PM it to me. The server is located on US East Coast (however there is pretty much no lag even in central - east Europe), and I've bought a 12 slot package for starters. As the server grows, we might move from this host but we're currently with MInecraft Infinity. I've chosen Feed the Beast because it's the simplest way to install a whole lots of mods which make Minecraft, IMO, a lot bigger and much more complete game than it was before, and as an option to satisfy all of you. If there's an outcry, I will change it to either another FTB pack, or a Tekkit pack (which is pretty much FTB minus awesomeness), or just vanilla. I've built a shit spawn hut so that the creepers don't blow you up the moment you connect, with some picks, a bit of food (there's a tiny farm behind the spawn hut) and a furnace with some coal. Please keep it stocked with coal. RulesThere are four rules: Don't be a dick. Do NOT be a dick. Automated mining facilities should go under level 45 in the Overworld or in a separate mining world (Mystcraft) rather than in front of Brent's massive castle bottle of vodka he spent a month building and decorating. Keep the furnace at spawn stocked with coal. Questions anyone? I'd like to play this but I'm scared/don't know how!Don't worry. You can just start out slowly, playing vanilla, and then checking out the new things one mod at a time, so that you aren't overwhelmed. I'd like to play Minecraft but without mods/with Tekkit/with something else!I suggest you give this mod pack a chance. I was skeptical at first but this is really a well-rounded pack with balanced mods and extensive gameplay and I have nothing but praise for all the mods. If you've grown bored of regular Minecraft, this will breathe new life into that game for you.How do I download all these mods? Is it going to take me a lot to get these set up?You can install all the mods you will need with two clicks. Just download the launcher from http://feed-the-beast.com/#download_wrapper, select "FTB Ultimate" modpack and click "Launch". You'll need to provide your minecraft login info and the pack will be downloaded, and in a few minutes you'll be ready to play.Who are the admins?Currently, I am the only admin and manager. My ingame nick is i542. As the server grows, we might add more admins.I've already played some of these mods - can you brief me on the configs?Sure thing. We're running everything on defaults EXCEPT: Advanced Solar Panels are a bit cheaper to make. You can use either an IC2 compressor or a crafting table to make blocks out of metals (iron, tin, etc.) We are running an IC2 addon called GregTech which alters some of the IndustrialCraft recipes by balancing them in order to work better with other mods, and to make them, sometimes drastically, more expensive. As with the modpack itself, if there is an outcry to the more expensive recipes, I'll change it to easy mode, however I like a challenge.
Ghost_Jor 583 #2 Posted March 27, 2013 I'm Ghost_Jor_ in Minecraft. And just a quick question, how do you find out which recipes have been changed? Or will it show you the recipes on the TMI mod? Looking forward to the inevitable nuclear war.

Ruby 9,039 #9 Posted March 27, 2013 My name is CasualNotHere and I LOVE Ftb so ask me for help anytimeAdded.I'm always looking for more ways to not do work. Explain to me what these mods are, and why I should join you guys. It's basically a pack of 50ish or so mods, some smaller, some bigger, which pretty much redefine Minecraft and give you much more stuff to aim for. There's a lot of technical mods which focus on automation (auto tree/food/anything farms, automated mining, etc.), there are mods which focus on magic and give you awesome tools and items I wouldn't think of in a million of years, mods that focus on loot... if you can watch let's plays, look up either Nebris or EthosLab on Youtube, these guys build some amazing stuff. Ruby 9,039 #20 Posted March 31, 2013 I updated my MC for the first time in years, what do. Mods? Says the server is outdated. What kind of message are you getting? I had a problem with a stubborn twilight forest mod, so I updated a few configs around and it should be okay now. Downloaded 4th time, still freezes upon creating a profile. That seems odd, do you get a crash or something? I'm not having any problems: http://i.imgur.com/7ulmqWQ.png
