The Opinion Of An Outside Source

Recommended Posts

Lotus Clan Servers are the best Tf2 servers in the world. There are noobs but there are also the better players... just not as many. There are many more noobs in TF2 in general anyways. I don't notice more noobs on Lotus than any other server. The worst server as far as trolls that I've had to voteban is definitely Harvest New Jersey.

But Dustbowl Texas for life <3.

Haters are the sad server owners who play with bots 24/7, all cause their server never get's people.

My question still stands, though: does anyone else know of other server communities that compete with LotusClan? I'm yet to encounter any other real competitors than skial.

In terms of hacker control and reasonable donator privileges, Lotus is the best among the large public communities (skial, nightteam, to some extent ego, and saigns are in my experience far behind in this regard). Lotus also has, as far as I know, by far the greatest number of servers.

As far as skill level, there are places with a higher skill level (The Corner Pub, Stars' server, and a few others come to mind). These servers receive close attention and pampering from their owners, mostly in terms of personal advertising and invitation. This level of personal attention is simply impossible for such a large number of servers as Lotus has. You do see a similarly high level of play on those Lotus servers (most of the 2fort servers, dustbowl servers, and maybe a couple control point rotation servers) that are populated by a group of, basically, friends and regulars. Not all Lotus servers are like this, and not all need to be.

Additionally, 32 player servers, in general, will often see lower skill level than 24 player servers. This is because, the way tf2 is built, the more players there are, the more you can die to completely random stuff that is in no way skill indexed--people just have less attention to give each one of their enemies. If you think you're better than other players, you don't like to die to the random camping backburner pyro, or the sewer or grate camper, or whatever. This is probably also why competitive formats have smaller team sizes, disabled random crits, and fixed damage/weapon spread.

Good points. I'm smoking a cigar to celebrate this awesome post.

P. S. Yes, I'm a dickhead.

I played with Asjo (hello again:) ) tonight and he typifies why I started playing on Lotus servers, then became a donator and then became a recruit. Teamplay, LOL's and respect...it's what makes people come back I'm sure...it's what makes me come back.

Oh and I'm sure everyone will agree we could always use an Asjo in Lotus Clan :)

Wow, never even heard of Ego?

I might be a bit tardy to the party, but I found this by accident this morning;

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3003547

Feel free to read and respond to it.

Here's the wacky thing: Random people are standing up for Lotus, of their own accord.

It seems that the only complaints anyone have left are "LIVE NUDES! isn't mature enough for me." or the hilarious, "They USED to have hidden bots."

Seems to me the TF2 community is divided into two groups: People who enjoy Lotus and people who want to hate Lotus so bad that they're willing to nit-pick every tiny little detail.

Best part: The people who enjoy Lotus are WINNING!
