Teaser And Logic!

Recommended Posts

Hi! I will post logic and teaser problem here

Please feel free to answer as you're here

Do not cheat is the best

You will be smart among the rest

you can post comment if you care

The time to wait for the answer is rare

Please visit this thread if you feel so boring...

First 3 Teasers!

1. One day in music class, the teacher said, "Today we're going to talk about our favorite string instruments. All you have to do is tell me your favorite string instrument and you'll get an A." The teacher asked one kid and he said piano. He got an F. Why? (This teaser is answered by saikai)

(For those not in the US, A is the highest grade and F is the lowest)

2. There are ten people in a house. Everybody wants to make a hand shake with only people shorter than himself. Assume everybody is different in height. How many hand shakes are made?

3. The Pope, Celine Dion, George Bush and Bill Gates are on the same plane. There are only 3 parachutes left for the 4 of them. Bush says: "As the President, I think I should have the right to have a parachute, because I rule millions of people in the greatest nation of all." Celine Dion says: " As one of the greatest singers of all-time, I think I should deserve to be safe. I bring tears and laughter to millions of people, and I'm an important contributor to pop music." Bill Gates says: " As one of the richest successful company owners, I think I should live because I'm on top of the economics cycle, creating jobs and incomes for millions of people. I am a wealthy and intelligent man. Finally, the Pope says: "I'm an old, religious man. I lived a life that's full, I helped millions of people find their way through God, I'm ready to let go of a parachute and to face my fate."

Which one of them will abandon the parachute and die?

Special teaser! You can only answer this question once, if somebody have answered this already, please do not answer it again..

Special Teaser

True or false: California starts with C, and ends with e.

[GE]-Destroy, congratulations to you, you are wrong! I can answer the three question by just reading them once and i can provide logic to show that my answers are correct. These questions are a lot easier than playing dragon to beat lotus. I can see that most of br players are not very smart when it come to answering non-br-related questions.

1. The reason why the kid received an F was that he was not exposed to much musical experiences and didn't know the specific meaning of "string instrument". Who says that piano is a string instrument. Second of all, if he relies on that and didn't do any other works to earn A, then he would get F either the teacher gave him an A or F. If the teacher gave him A based on that one question, then the teacher would have been fired and the kid would still get an F. This is how the school systems work.

2. Like i said, GE needs to take more math classes or learn to think a bit. The question states that everyone only wants to shake hand with those that are shorter than himself or herself. This implies that the number of handshakes can vary from 0-45. However if the question states that no one is willing to shake hand with anyone that taller than he or she is, then the answer would be zero.

Let me give further explaination for those that lack experience in think about this kind of questions. "want to" does not mean must do something. "don't want to" does not mean must not do something. So, one or more people in the house might be forced to shake hand(usually the big bullies do this to skinny ones jut like Lotus tier 2 units consume Lotus peasants). Therefore, the number of handshake vary from 0 to 45 (0 is the minimum and 45 is the maximum). Now, if there is no force involved and no one is willing to shake hand with those that are taller, then the number of handshake is 0. This can be looked at this way: the shortest is not wiling to shake hand with anyone who is taller, so there is 0 handshake for the shortest person; the next person that is taller than the shortest person but shorter than the others won't shake hand with the other either. So the number of handshake is still 0. This will continue to the tallest person that is rejected from handshaking with everyone. (I think I know what GE was thinking. He might have thought that the shortest person shook hand with himself or herself; that would give him the answer to be 1 handshake. LOL).

3. It seems to me that the pope is the one who will abandon the parachute but he will not die at this moment because the question does not provide any condition and situation of the plane that might cause death. So I can pinpoint this lack of details in the question to logically support my answer. After all no one wants to die unless he or she confronts something. The Pope devote his solely soul and mind to believe that God exist and God would give him wings to fly. Thus he does not need parachute. Celin Deon does not need parachute either because there are millions of people waiting for her on the ground to catch her. Bush is the same as Celin Deon, but if he falls down in a democratic party, then i guess he would have to wear a big sign that says "I resign my presidential term and You democrats can have it, Please save me." As for Billgate who is so smart will blow out his mind to fix the problem. So it seems to me that one of them will need a parachute. Oh, my answer to this question is the pope will abandon the parachute but will not die.

Your questions lack peer reviews. Please be more specific when asking questions. Oh You can just write any answer for your test if the test questions are vaque as long as you provide logical reasons and can be shown to be correct.

Wolfbite, once again, death is just the beginning of sorrow and suffering. And you cannot win all the time. i am ready to play any time. It will be a great exp for me to die under the hand of a skilled dragon, serpent, wolf, or lotus to improve my weaknesses.

Ben's questions are not retarded. Only people can be retarded.

Wow... cptheslayer, you got the 3 questions correctly, however, your final answer to the question about the plane is incorectly but the idea is correct!

About the special teaser, hmm... It's a trick.. I would post it again until someone got it...

Remember, Teasers are also Tricks, so it don't needs to be specific.. But some need to be specific...

Here are the new teasers.

1. he farmer comes to a river and finds a boat that will only hold two passengers. For obvious reasons, he can't leave the goose alone with the fox, or the goose with the grain. How does he get his cargo safely to the other side in one trip?

2. You have two $5 dollar bill. You want to buy 2 pieces of candy, but the candies dealer only sells 3 candies for $2 dollar. You pay him and get 6 pieces of candy. How much would be your changes?

3. Before Mount Everest was discovered, what was the highest mountain on earth?

Special Teaser: Again...

True or false: California starts with C, and ends with e.

I'll let others answer the 3 teasers, and ill point out some hints for the special teaser. Ben, the way you stated the special teaser implies California is the state California, not the word 'California'. To answer this question, i will assume California as the state. California does not start with C; it starts with the columbus's discovery(which is not a real discovery beacuse long before columbus there are evidence that different people from different parts of the world crossed the ocean to trade with the native people. You can ask your teacher about this. If your history teacher says this is not true, then tell him or her to go back to school t learn more about history.) Then the ruthless British slaughtered about 95-98% of Native People and took control over the land. Then the thought-to-be-new-found land was named America and later it was divided into states. California came from this source. The second part of the teaser is "who knows what California will end with as long as California still exists." And the question was an "and question"-a conjunction. Therefore the answer is false.

Note: Columbus(is that how it spelled?) was a greedy navigator. He made an agreement with the King: if the King provided him ship servants and supplies, he would share all the treasure that were thought to be abundant in the potential undiscovered land which is America).

Ben, if u intended to mean California as a word, then you should write 'California'. I guess your English teacher has not yet taught you this. But hey tell it to your English teacher and you can pray that God will make your teacher give you an A.

Hints: English language is not specific or has fixed meaning.

1.Define "passengers". Are goose, grain, and fox considered as passengers? If yes, then i guess the person must tranform himself or herself as another boat or the goose and the person can swim along the grain and the fox in the boat.

2. The candies dealer "only" sells "3" candies for $2. I guess if the deal is strong and bigger than the buyer then the deal would just kick the buyer in the *** when the buyer takes 6 candies. If the dealer is polite then the buyer may be told that "only 3 candies" will be sold.

3. Some natural events might have caused more erosion in an area than the others. A fact is still a fact whether it was found or not. Consider this questoin: My only name was cptheslayer. What was my name before it was known as cptheslayer?.

cptheslayer... hmm... You only got number 3 correctly, the one about Mount Everest...

About number 1... This is logical

About number 2... Just read the teaser carefully and you'll know it out..

About the special teaser... This is a trick! Don't need to be specific... Just pay your attention to the sentence, not the facts

i was not even trying to answer the question, and the questions are vaque, so i can say that my hints are on the right path regarding my assumption of the meaning of the words.

it seems to me that no one is interested in these teasers, but me. i can answer #1 with my second assumption which is to define fox, grain, and goose as passengers. The question only states that the farmer cannot leave the goose with grain or the fox with the goose, but does not say that the goose cannot eat the grain and niether the fox cannot eat the goose while the farmer is present. Therefore, we can just conclude the answer by letting the goose eat the grain first and then let the fox fill its stomach with the goose. So now we have 2 passengers. Interestingly enough, human eat fox. So another way is to let the farmer eat the fox and the goose eat the grain. Another way is to let the goose be devoured by the fox and the grain be swallowed by the famer. Finally, another way is to let the grain be eaten by the goose, the goose be eaten by the fox, and the fox be eaten by the farmer. I guess, You never thought of this last way, Ben. I can give you many different answers to your one question because the vaqueness in the question allows me to. I can say that 1+2=8-5 if the questoin is what is 1+2? But if the question is "What is the one-number value of 1+2?", then the answer would be 3. It works the same way with words. Don't just listen what other say, learn to think.

#2: i will not answer this question. It is too vaque. "changes" has more than one meaning. What is $2 dollar? two $2 dollar bill? ( not bills?), ....etc.

#3: i have not answered the question, how could you say that I was correct?

Special teaser: once again, when dealing with tricks, word usage must be correct. If not, then you can always say that I am wrong. For example $2 dollar does not mean 2 dollars which I would I assume it to be. Therefore, my answer to the question was built upon my assumption that specify the question.

Ben, which high school are you attending? Tell me and I will ask your principal to assign a special class for you: Philosophy. Ask your principal why Philosophy is not introduced to high school students.

@ cptheslayer...

As I said, teasers question don't need to be specific if it don't really need...

For more information, please feel free to visit our website: Braingle

About my school?

I don't need any additional class because I can learn everything easily by my self... I could get the top grade if I want..

*PEACE* :)^_^

@ ALL

Here are the answers for the teasers:

1. The farmer let the fox ride on the boat with him and let the goose swim since it can float easily... Where are the grains? The grains are also on the boat... Why? The grains are not considered as passenger.

2. The change would be $1 since you bought 6 candies for $4. You need to pay one $5 dollar bills... You don't need to pay two $5 dollar bills if the total of your purchased is only $4.

3. Mount Everest, since it's not yet dicovered but it's still the highest mountain.

Special: True, Califonia do start with C and Ends with E

Here are new bunch of teasers:

1. How many letters are there in the answer to this question? (This is tricky)

2. Why can't you take a picture of an Indian woman with a sword?

3. (Special Logical Teaser!!! - Figured it out well!!!)

Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager finds out that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29. Where is the remaining dollar?

Special Teaser!!!

Johnny's mother had three children. The first child was named April. The second child was named May. What was the third child's name?

just as i thought, but your answers don't make any send regarding to the original questions. i still believe that my answers are more reasonable since it is more logical. i guess you haven't taken any proving classes. Just wait til you take those classes, then you will know and acknowledge the way i answered. For now, it is good to accept what is more appealing to your mind.

Here let me give a try.

1. six

2. ???

3. they paid the hotel 25$, and each of them received 1$ back= 28$ and the bellboy kept 2$ equaling 30$. This is so because when 30 is divided by three then you get 10, and when 27 is divided by 3, you get 9. One dollar is lost due to mathematical error. The wording is there to fool the person into thinking differently.
