So... what happened next.

We moved on, taking our reward with us ("You want some of these shiney globes, NPC? Earn them!"), we got into a small town... with a weird amount of happy happy and a Conan the Barbarian (TM) type guy standing around looking angry. (Childhood issues, i guess).

The exploration of nearby ruins led to the discovery of a giant stone hand in the ground pointing to a pond. A deep pond. Very deep. Wtf, does this thing has an end...???

Our Druid, curious as hell (and always happy to show off her shapechanging skills), explored the pond as a water elemental and ran into a group of merfolks. Worshipping a tentacle-faced wannabe-Cthulluh demon thingy. Who were sound asleep.

As we're the "Good Guys (TM)"., we decided to kill them in their sleep, including women, children and caviar. That succeeded to approximately 33% before they woke up.

Tune in next time when you hear gamemaster DB say "Is that a 1? Well, gimme another roll..."

hmm...if it's possible I would like to be introduced back into the game at some point with another character. If you think it wouldn't work that's ok, I'm content to play the pet minotaur of the group every once in a while :D

Do you really think you had the time for it regularly?  No offence dude but given that you said you play weekly in a group IRL, I was surprised how often you couldn't make it, or had to study so had your mic muted and we're just listening.  That's not your fault school comes first of course.  How about playing a supporting role in the campaign when you're on a prolonged break from school such as Christmas when you can maybe fit 4 weekly sessions in a row in?  Unless your circumstances have changed and your available more often than not on any weekend.  I mean, we all have to miss the odd session, but if it's more like you're missing most how's it going to role play out with your character coming and going frequently?  I'm all for having you back if you can play fairly regularly.

Pretty much this. I'm not against you coming back, even if it's every other session or something - I just need you 100% present when you are there with some kind of reliability so I can plan around it. We can discuss via PM.

If its only now and again I started thinking along the lines of some sort of runner/messenger to a king or something similar, but he is an advanced scout for the party on the side who is trying to chase up loose ends or trails on our campaign, whilst he goes about his business for the king.  That would explain why he's not always there....One week he's with us and plays but we know IRL he can't make it for the next two weeks so it's explained away as he is returning to the king or running an errand for the king, but he'll scout the towns out ahead along the way and meet us in X days roughly (game time).  If we then meet him in game great, he hangs out, maybe has some tidbits of information for us on our way ahead, if he isn't there he obviously got held up and may catch up with us later (another weekend IRL).

It's entirely up to DB, but for me personally a character along those lines won't break the immersion for the campaign but might in fact introduce some random elements in the form of new information, chance meetings and the like.

Just my 2 copper pieces.

Like an investigator/messenger/informant for hire. I like the idea, especially because if I'm being honest, there definitely will be some times where I can't make it. I'll pm DB about it

I have a vision of this....

* party riding along, through the calm and peaceful landscape
* bird are tweeting, butterflies are fluttering by, the sun is shining
* suddenly "LEEEEROY JENKIIIIIIIINS!"

A WILD MESSENGER APPEARS! HE'S SUPER CONFUSED AND ATTACKS THE ROCK BEHIND YOU!

* party going "wtf?"

I've hashed out some details with DB, we'll chat a little more but I have a general idea of how I'm going to build my char

You could even be a night I suppose which is kind of similar to what you were playing.

Please don't encourage the "turn up, kill everything, leave without saying a word" style of play...It has the role playing depth of a teaspoon for me.

And there goes my hope of using Koko as a suicide bomber for hard cases.

Yes, seriously Koko...this. Although, I think you mentioned that you may be playing a Bard so that option is probably out of the picture.

Koko, are you going to be able to play this coming Saturday? If so, I'll figure out a way to work you in.

I already messaged DB about it but for those wondering I'll be there

Currently cramming so I have time to get my character sheet done and sent to DB for checks :)

Can anyone not make it tomorrow?

It's Saturday today. You probably over slept and missed the session, but never fear...you're still alive.

As the question about alignment did arise, here's a handy guide to alignments.

Not bad descriptions.

Lawful: You follow some set of rules. These could be actual laws, a religion or philosophy, or a personal code.

Chaotic: You hate rules of any kind and find them ridiculously restraining.

Good: The will of the people must be heard and obeyed. Life is precious and deserves to be protected. Only the most vile creatures and people should be put to death.

Evil: You're more capable than everyone else so why bother caring what these people think? If someone isn't fun or useful feel free to kill them.

Childcare thing came up.  I'll be about 30 minutes late.  If we travel my preference is of course always by way of great eagle...
