Arrgghhh, Blackbeard is on the loose

Crystalitar and I were joining the server just to chill as heavies and having fun.

Blackbeard in the other hand wasn't amused of our reason to be on the server and said we should, with exact words "WILL YOU 2 FUCKING HEAVYS HELP OUT OR GET KICK OFF'"

 

 

Crystalitar responeded "if yu dare to try" and also recommned to let him call an admin.

Blackbeard wasn't happy for that respond and called a votekick on Crystalitar and got her kicked.

 

 

 

Crystalitar joined back, but as soon she joned Blackbeard started another votekick on her.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here people were asking why she got kicked and he responded

 

 

"he was playing grab ass" <-- aka dance taunt etc.

"with deadlydemoknight, who is going to get kicked as well"

This is not the first time I have been on the server with Blackbeard and witnessed him being disruptive, abusing the voting system and generally being pretty toxic with other people on the server. 

 

I have previously warned him on several occasions that he needs to chill out and stop causing trouble on servers.  I understand why he is doing it, as in he considers certain behavior to be not co-operative, but I think he is (i) far too heavy handed and quick to call up votes and (ii) his attitude to other players is borderline abusive/bullying and (iii) although he is trying to stop disruption in his mind, he is actually causing regular and consistent disruption on an almost monthly basis.

 

I tried this evening to speak to him on Steam chat having spoken to him before in game and warned him on multiple previous occasions.  Tonight I wanted to ensure he was listening by talking on Steam.  He refused multiple friend requests despite me and others (thankyou Ljubica) telling him in game that I wanted to speak with him.

 

I intended to give him another warning, but a more personal one.  Obviously I was unable to do this.

 

Apparently Staff or Mana can only deal with abuse of donor privileges.  I don't see this as abuse of donor privileges as you don't need to be a donor to do any of the things he has done in recent months on our servers.

 

I'd like to see a temp ban put in place by Staff or Mana please.  I'd also like some clarification on what admins can do with regards to donors who are disruptive.

I've had a chat with him in the past and I am now getting seriously tired of this guy's bullshit. Donor or not, I'd suggest giving him a final warning. If later he is found to once more be pulling strings then a removal of donor permissions and a 2 week ban would be my suggestion. Although this is for staff to decide, I do want people to know this fella has been doing this crap for over 3 months as far as I remember.

Just a short note, i nowadays suggest people to call admin as then we can have a fair judgement. i am not hoping admins will favor me (i hope not) as when an admin says i am in fault i will accept the right punishment.

That's not exactly why I asked

Spawn hogging by itself isn't disallowed, only when it becomes disruptive to the server (which is determined by a vote). If the server voted to kick that isn't abuse of the system since the reason given was disruptive.

Also, the player DeadlyDemoKnight was playing and not causing trouble apparently.  Yet he was accused of being "disruptive".  I have seen Blackbeard votekick people numerous times before tonight for being "disruptive" when they are in fact not causing any trouble whatsoever.  This is why I have spoken to Blackbeard on numerous previous occasions.

Anyways, I think the fact that he is donor makes a diffrence because he directly starts the vote. I doubt you'd get the 3 or 4 people together to votekick someone for hanging around in spawn and taunting for a few minutes.

Whenever I'm on 2fort, at some point there are people doing nothing but hanging around in spawn and taunting. I can't remember hearing of anyone having a problem with it before.

Not ture, we came from a dustbowl server which started to be empty so she joined the 2fort server. I followed up and saw her heavy outfit.

I had the same cosmatics items so I did a copy so we look the same. We then were in the spawn for like perhaps 1 min or less, remember this server has fast respawn and we didn't have (or I) didn't have a plan of staying in spawn in like 15 mins or so. There was also people spawncamping outsite in the moment of this were happening.

Donors can be handled by Admins for everything except abuse of privileges just like any other player. They must also abide by the same rules as any other player. For example, in this instance an admin could have called a kick on the donor for disruptive behavior. They would not however make the determination that he should be banned for calling the vote in the first place. The difference is small but important.

Casual shittalking/swearing/insults are allowed on the servers unless a vote determines it as disruptive. Local mute is even built into the game because of this. A votemute (which an admin could change to silence if the vote passes) would be another good option to handle the situation.

Now... On to Blackbeard. He will receive a 48 hour ban. This is a compromise ban length as this type of first offense donor abuse would normally be at least a week in length. Oftentimes this can be averted if a discussion with the donor about what is and isn't allowed is productive... But that would have required him accepting the invite from an admin. There is ample anecdotal evidence from reliable source that he is likely abusing his donor privileges, but no hard evidence to actually show the pattern of behavior, thus the compromise on length. This ban will now be the starting point in case the behavior occurs again.
