maxtrillion 0 #26 Posted July 28, 2006 I think walls would be stupid. Because then it would be sort of a standoff kind of thing, trying to destroy the wall.... getting killed in the process. It is better to be able to run into their base destroying stuff, and let them retailiate. I just like Br the way it is. Simple as that.

Simple as that. 13817[/snapback] No offence, but i think that ^ is a small minded way of thinking, the walls would be easier than towers to destroy, and would do no more than add fun and variety to attacking and defending bases. Like i have said before, it would be the same as using peasant huts as a wall, exept you can't go through them. Note: This is my opinion, your welcome to object to my idea, but don't state it as a fact.
{Dark}KaBuKI 2 #30 Posted July 28, 2006 i think the wolf should get some kind of power like necro and dragon spirit they have it ed needs to give it to them and its the WHITE WOLF its power is really strong.

Sun 0 #32 Posted July 29, 2006 Baxter we already have wall, we have huts.
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #33 Posted July 29, 2006 lolz yeh i think bax was saying something cheaper than huts like little walls f spikes or something that is easy 2 destroy...g2 respect his ideas its a good idea neway just doesnt suit with br....
Speedy 11 #34 Posted July 29, 2006 I appreciate the fact that you don't like my idea, but all i'm saying is add something that is NEARLY identical to usinghuts or wells as a wooden wall.. Sun, they would be the same as huts exept look better, and you can't go through unless you destroy them, which would be easy. You can use huts as walls, so why not make a wall that is the same as a hut, exept without the gaps, and maybe a small entrance of some kind...Maybe towers could attach to the wooden pallisades. And no Alvz, i said more expensive than huts. PS: It wouldn't alter the BR "Theme" Alvz, because we already have walls .
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #35 Posted July 29, 2006 not specifically walls huts are used as walls....i respect ur idea i said...
Sinophile 41 #36 Posted July 29, 2006 Eh, I see we have Alvz and Baxter online right now don't we??? Now that Baxter has expanded on his walls idea in a nice type of way, it doesn't seem as much of a bad idea. But like, wouldn't it not work in the game, technical-wise? You probably wouldn't be able to build walls on shallow water, letting guys just walk past it. And the trees man, THE TREES! Building on slops wouldn't work aswell, I think. AOE has slop walls, but they look ugly. Meh. Edit: I just noticed Ben is now an advanced member. Congrats! And sorry for being off-topic.
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #37 Posted July 29, 2006 hey futsalfred sorry 4 getting off topic bax buyt what did ur last personal msg say coz i dunno i think it wrecked and i didnt get ur last msg it just had the same thing on it...
Sinophile 41 #38 Posted July 29, 2006 I'll re-send it. Back on topic. A few rowboats carrying a peasant dude wouldn't hurt. But that would mean a building that they come from. Or youknow, god puts them there.
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #39 Posted July 29, 2006 there isnt much maps that has water everywhere....so there would only be a couple of maps where u could use that boat shit also with the planes most maps arnt that big even centre ring isnt that big if u think about it theres no need 4 that plane shit but maybe th hot air baloon would be good for transport...i doubt it will be added though 2 the next patch of br..or br2
Speedy 11 #40 Posted July 29, 2006 I disagree with the airplane stuff, it was Ben's idea not mine. I posted almost the same thing twice because you didn't seem to understand the first time. Alvz, we are talking BR2 not this br, there would be new maps in br2...
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #41 Posted July 29, 2006 owww oki well in that case maybe the walls would be cool no1 knows what 2 expact from br2 if there ever will be i guess all ideas here could be possible... i thought we were talkin about an expansion or just a patch lol i feel u bax walls thing could be good... [{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #45 Posted July 29, 2006 lolz a nice word to have in ur vocabulary bank bax.... now let me ask a question.... What does it mean? LOLZ
Speedy 11 #46 Posted July 30, 2006 Hey Alvz you asked for it! Pessimism describes a general belief that things are bad, and tend to become worse; or that looks to the eventual triumph of evil over good; it contrasts with optimism, the contrary belief in the goodness and betterment of things generally. A common conundrum illustrates optimism versus pessimism with the question, does one regard a given glass of water as half full or as half empty? Conventional wisdom expects optimists to reply with half full and pessimists to respond with half empty. Philosophical pessimism describes a tendency to believe that the life has a negative value, or that this world is as bad as it could possibly be. In particular, it most famously describes the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer. Schopenhauer's pessimism comes from his elevating of Will above reason as the mainspring of human thought and behaviour. Schopenhauer pointed to motivators such as hunger, sexuality, the need to care for children, and the need for shelter and personal security as the real sources of human motivation. Reason, compared to these factors, is mere window-dressing for human thoughts; it is the clothes our naked hungers put on when they go out in public. Schopenhauer sees reason as weak and insignificant compared to Will; in one metaphor, Schopenhauer compares the human intellect to a lame man who can see, but who rides on the shoulders of the blind giant of Will. Likening human life to the life of other animals, he saw the reproductive cycle as indeed a cyclical process that continues pointlessly and indefinitely, unless the chain is broken by too limited resources to make continued life possible, in which case it is terminated by extinction. The prognosis of either pointlessly continuing the cycle of life or facing extinction is one major leg of Schopenhauer's pessimism. Schopenhauer moreover considers the desires of the will to entail suffering: because they are desires; because their objects are always limited resources; because other living things must be excluded from those resources. The business of biological life is a war of all against all. Reason makes us suffer all the more, in that reason makes us realize that biology's agenda is something we would not have chosen if we had a choice, but is helpless to prevent us from serving it, or allow us to escape the sting of its goad (compare this to the role of desire in Buddhism).
