Uhhh, I'm sure most of us already had all of the items from legit play probably before the milestones were even implemented.

I sure didn't. Before the milestones, all I had were 3 ambassadors.... and 5 nataschas, a butt-load of blutsaugers, and a bunch of other duplicated crap. Once the milestones were implemented I immediately got everything else except the NewbShield but I got that one or two achievements later. And yes, I'm still upset about the vain week of playing in an attempt to try out the new stuff.

According to this data approximately 5-10 items are given out every second across X number of steam users. The hats have, what, a .33% chance of being obtained?

Apparently, it's like this from what I've heard. you have a 25% chance to obtain a item every 25 minutes. The probability of that item being a hat (Of any kind) is a 0.33% chance. Some say it's a tad higher, some say it's a tad lower, who cares. It's ridiculous.

I can't help but be reminded of one of the backgrounds that comes with Windows 7. You know someone at Microsoft was smoking something:

The Windows 7 default backgrounds are awesome. Spoiler alert, though, if you hold down "Alt" while hitting Print Screen, it will only capture the window you have in focus. Then you can paste it from your clipboard into a new file. ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT is that you can click and hold on the title bar of a window and shake it back and forth and it will automatically minimize any other window you have open on your desktop. Windows 7 is so fucking awesome.

I'm at about 350 items so far but I got the Engineer hat as one of my first drops so who knows when ill be lucky enough to get another. There is no actual rule on once you get a hat, you must wait so many drops, its just a rate of drop. There is always a chance that you could get two hats 25 minutes apart. Everyone would hate you though.

Agreed! I knew about the Alt thing, but didn't know about the shake thing. Awesome!
