Buck 1 #1 Posted June 3, 2009 So i've noticed that a lot of people are pretty apathetic when it comes to winning or losing on the 24/7 2fort maps. Occasionally however, and quite obviously on Stock 1 from my first visit there; we see people who expect at least a modicom of effort from their teammates when it comes to pushing the assault and getting the objective accomplished. I come across this alot since I like to play Sniper even if my team has five snipers, since I understand most of them are probobly class hopping. Not everyone is polite about it, though. They can be very abusive to other players who aren't performing well or are playing a specific class. Where does the line fall between taking your entertainment too seriously and being a drag on your team? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this one everybody. .

Captain Planet 28 #3 Posted June 3, 2009 I stopped giving a shit about what happens in this game looooong ago. That's what Stock 1 does to you. Ditto. We play too much and too often to [sometimes/most of the time] not care. Tonight was a rare exception, and I don't even know what the fuck happened, but both teams wanted to rip each others throats out for some reason. That's at least what I got out of it, and it became very competitive. That and the fact that you had Trini on your team, which means you will constantly be told that you suck balls. I do expect the team to work toward the team objective, and when they don't, it frustrates me. The worst situation is when the enemy has sentry guns and my team won't work together to take them out. If our team has good demomen who can take down the sentries, I am happy to be medic. Or, if I notice our team has NO demomen and they have sentries, then I am happy to switch to demo and take down the sentries. But if, when I switch to demo, I don't get medical help, OR if I keep getting killed by pyros because the rest of my team is screwing around playing useless classes for the situation, then yes, I do get a little frustrated. You suck and have no life 203 #7 Posted June 3, 2009 If you are on my team and we are winning, i dont care what you do. If you are on my team and we are losing, and you are playing sniper or scout, and you arent the top 3 on the team, you best be switching classes to a demo or medic or get off my team.

Stabby McKnife-Face 17 #10 Posted June 3, 2009 I do whatever the fuck I want, which usually involves playing spy, getting backstabs and various other forms of psychological warfare. If I help the team? Grand. If I don't? I got my fun. Ultimately having more fun usually involves performing well, which directly aids the team. There are times where I have to go engineer to help the other engis so the round lasts long enough for me to have fun, which sucks balls. I always assume there's enough people on my team that care about doing the (very boring and unfun) dirty work of winning (medics, demospam, heavies, engis, etc.) where I can work the crowd without having to perform as a dominant leg. "But Stabby, I've seen you heckle the team about losing!" one might say. Yes, I do, but only to kick those that care about the outcome into a little "not suck" frenzy. I'm not a team player, it's one of the reasons I play spy: so I can stay the hell away from everyone else and be better off for doing so.

Stack 1 is serious business! As long as I am killing more people than are killing me, I don't give a shit. aye, usually i dont give a shit. Hell i usually try and get people to all go one class. Melissia 7 #13 Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) Do not doubt the power of eight bodyshotting snipers with huntsmen. DO dobut the power of these snipers if they suck ass. Edited June 3, 2009 by Melissia

Melissia 7 #16 Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) With eight bodyshotting Huntsman snipers, you don't have to be good to hit and kill someone. You have to be good to kill enough people to justify that many snipers. You'll more than likely just have a bunch of dipshits making it ahrder on the rest fo the snipers because they crowd around andp resent good targets for soldiers, demomen, and spies. FunkyFresh 68 #17 Posted June 3, 2009 You won't find too many people wanting to win on those 24/7 servers. If you aren't on the winning team already, you aren't gonna win. Same with Stacks 1. Most of the time we stack up and join the same team is because we all listen to each other and know shit will get done..whereas on the other team, you've got apes all piling onto spy or sniper or whatever might have gotten Top Points/MVP from the other team winning last round. Melissia 7 #18 Posted June 3, 2009 Translation: most people just want to have fun. And those that don't are often jerkasses anyway.
You suck and have no life 203 #19 Posted June 3, 2009 Funny thing is, somehow i doubt you are top 3 usually. If you are then you need to play on a better server If I'm there at the beginning of the server reset. I'm usually the highest scoring player 90% of the time by mid game. Its not unusual for me to get MVP 8 times in a row. As far as playing on a better server, I could but I donated on dustbowl and I like dustbowl, so im going to keep playing there. Translation: most people just want to have fun. For some people is more fun to win. If you are going get a job, why only get a fun job? Get one thats fun and pays a lot of money. If you are playing TF2, time is passing the same as your opponent. Since you are both dedicating your time on this game, why not make the most of it and win?
