You suck and have no life 203 #77 Posted June 8, 2009 No, the point here was: You mostly play demo, always on dustbowl, therefore kdr means nothing. Any idiot can spam around a corner with a kritz over and over again and get himself and his medic to the top of the scoreboard. It's fun in moderation, but it doesn't take skill, or intelligence. What a stupid logic. If playing on Dustbowl and as demo makes it easy for everyone. Then everyone would have a 10:1 wouldn't they? OH wait, its impossible for everyone to have a 10:1 kdr because that would violate the laws of math wouldn't it?

So by your thinking, a player is good if he tops the score board cause he turns a corner and spams while Kritz'd? Like Lorax said any idiot can do that. All it takes it people on the other team to be in the wrong place.

OH wait, its impossible for everyone to have a 10:1 kdr because that would violate the laws of math wouldn't it? Um, no, it doesn't. Especially since Blu team has a short respawn time. If the other team is terrible enough to not kill every member of your team for every ten points your team gets then it is mathematically possible for everyone on the team to achieve a 10:1 K/D ratio. aph 0 #82 Posted June 8, 2009 So by your thinking, a player is good if he tops the score board cause he turns a corner and spams while Kritz'd? Like Lorax said any idiot can do that. All it takes it people on the other team to be in the wrong place. Despite what most people think (because they have either been owned by multiple demos, they have bad dreams about them, whatever the cause may be..) not ALL demomen are good. There are some retards that believe they can do it, try, and end up dead. Dustbowl is a little hacks for a demo. However, just like in gambling, would you rather not play the odds? Demomen are great an all, but definately too much qq about how they are overpowered.

You also fail to realize that teams switch sides after the rounds. You cant be on defense forever. So a long term score is representative of both offense and defense. You go on defense and I'll go on offense on dustbowl. Please demonstrate a 10:1 kdr on me. Please demonstrate even a 5:1 on me. Thrillhouse 1 #84 Posted June 8, 2009 As a 24/7 dustbowl enthusiast and career medic I can attest there are SEVERAL bad demomen. Edit: Even though Sucky causes all kinds of a shitstorm constantly he is a pretty talented demoman.
You suck and have no life 203 #85 Posted June 8, 2009 Its funny the retards keep saying "anyone can do it". There are 32 slots, and 1 number one. Therefore only 1 out of the 32 players can have the top score. Don't talk about my logic. Any 3rd grader can see how obviously wrong your comments are. The Lorax 25 #86 Posted June 8, 2009 You also fail to realize that teams switch sides after the rounds. You cant be on defense forever. So a long term score is representative of both offense and defense. The ridiculous amount of kills a demo can pull from ONE stage 3 defense can keep someone on the top of the scoreboard even after a below average offensive switch. Remember what I said about the round last night. Over 100 points in ONE stage 3 defense. All the rest, which was only 27, came from a single offensive switch, and I was still second place. Same story with Rydawg.
You suck and have no life 203 #87 Posted June 8, 2009 The ridiculous amount of kills a demo can pull from ONE stage 3 defense can keep someone on the top of the scoreboard even after a below average offensive switch. Remember what I said about the round last night. Over 100 points in ONE stage 3 defense. All the rest, which was only 27, came from a single offensive switch, and I was still second place. Same story with Rydawg. This is true. You can get up to 100 points on a 20 minute of last stage of dustbowl. However, the map resets after 2-3 hours. So, in theory, there is usually 4-5 rounds of both offense and defense. So if you played the entire map rotation, you still would have played many rounds on offense as well. And the higher your KDR, the easier it is to screw it up. So if the other team is equally good. Both sides will share of the slight favor on defense. In my opinion, if you play a long period of time, the law of averages apply. And yes, I know we all can pull off ridiculous scores in one round. I have gotten 50:1 kdrs before. Rydawg 14 #93 Posted June 9, 2009 9v 10 on a pub wtf? suckylife doesn't realize that pretty much any demo can get a perma krits on stage 3 dustbowl and get 60 points, the good people get 80+. There is a difference when spamming, but it is small.

There is a difference when spamming, but it is small. I dont realize because: 1. I dont play demo? 2. I dont play on dustbowl? 3. I never been kritzkreiged before? 4. You are better than me? nice assumption. Edited June 9, 2009 by YouSuckAndYouHaveNoLife

Stabby McKnife-Face 17 #96 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) I ended up writing this post twice for some reason. I feel this new version more adequately expresses my thoughts on the subject. Stabby is very much a killer and an achiever. Not social, likes to just go out and kill... and god knows he seeks me out to get the best of me, because it's a challenge to him. When all is said and done my goals are not to make people miserable unless I feel they deserve it- namely, the achievers. Extreme achievers annoy me- the ones constantly checking their ranks and belittling other people. Games are about fun for everyone. If my means of having fun is taking away from yours, then I apologize. I very much hate griefers and will target them above anyone else if I'm aware of their presence. There's a very bold line between dignified skill and power abuse, a line I'd like to think I'm on the "dignity" side of. We're all in this to have fun (I hope, unless one of you is getting paid to play this game, in which case please contact me) and naturally there are going to be certain players that are better than others. It all comes down to how you use that skill and how much it means to you that the original argument rests on. It's one thing if it's all an act- an escape from reality (and there's nothing fundamentally wrong with that-- I'm not visually threatening and I'm way too pacifistic to have an "in your face" attitude, but in game this image is easy to maintain) It's another thing to go with intent to belittle the fun of other players. Yeah, I'm a spy and yeah I love hunting down certain people. But I have my reasons for picking fights. I hunt "hardcore achievers" because I feel they'd be better off by eating a few helpings of humility. I hunt my friends because that's my strange way of saying "Hey, what's up, want to duel?". The fastest way to get those duels without asking or interrupting others is play on the revenge instinct. And... I hunt other spies, because I love to pass on my tricks. I want to be outplayed so I can adapt and be better at target elimination to meet my ends. Blah blah blah tangent. Overall, perfect post for this thread, EagleEye. I too am a game designer and appreciate these philosophies. Edited June 9, 2009 by Stabby McKnife-Face

Melissia 7 #98 Posted June 9, 2009 Here's a simple question for you all:Who gives a shit? Other than Suckylife, obviously. Answered your own question. For most people, it's really just a passing point of interest, where if they even care to look they might say "hey neat, I made it to the top of the scoreboard today". And then they move on. Only really insecure people with something to prove actively go around screenshotting their score every time they happen to have gotten lucky, faced off against a team that wasn't playing its best at the time, or played against some random noobs on a random server, etc. Like someone we know. You suck and have no life 203 #99 Posted June 9, 2009 Grats on demospamming the last point of Dustbowl part 3 without being the top player on the team. Naka messaged me because his team was getting raped. I was in the game for 5 minutes when I took the screen shot. Am I ever not the top the the score board when I start when server resets? I'm a newb, so if someone is better than me, I call them names
Miyari 33 #100 Posted June 10, 2009 Pubstar demomen make me lol. I'd love to see a lot of the egotistical asshats afoot get totally fucking owned by someone who is actually good at the class. SuckyLife wouldn't stand a second against some of my friends. Then again, when he started losing it would just turn into a plethora of insults because the other person is better at the game than him so clearly he has no life and sucks at everything because he isn't an engineer and a douchebag. So whatever. There's no winning why do you people even still bother acknowledging the posts?
