Also, I hear it only protects you from bullets, not projectiles like rockets. So level 3 sentries will still be about as hard to deal with.

What's stopping you from going up to the sentry and blasting it point blank or batting it to death? You know, besides those pyros, wrenches, and stickies.

No not triple jump. if you had the gun and the bat unlocks both equipped and pressed space bar more than once your scout would explode. Most likely the alt fire will push you back, hence shooting it at the ground while jumping will launch you like a soldier.

Oh, that actually makes a lot more sense. I wonder how high he'll be able to go...

Huh. So maybe with it, the Sandman's disadvantage won't be so huge. This depends on how far and how fast you move, of course.

But it still won't take care of replacing the main utility of double-jumping: changing directions in mid-air.

Scattergun unlock is called Force-A-Nature. Has some knockback mechanism, supporting the from-the-ground high jump and not third jump theory, and seems to be effective from behind. Also, razor blades?

one of the new maps must be an arena with a timbersaw in it that you can push people into, or you can push them off the cliff in lumberyard

I already had this idea. Uncap multi jump. Make it work infinity times.

Egypt is a strange map - good, but not "lol let's make it an offishul map teehee" good. I wonder if they ever took the absurd, slowly-opening stone doors out.

As for the Sandman, I'm getting real tired of the idea of charging an uber for at least a minute straight only to have it rendered completely pointless by some absurd force. Spoiler alert - stopping ubers wins games. A pyro with a working hand and a flamethrower can make defending final CPs on Dustbowl a joke if he spams the air-burst facing the right direction enough, even for some of the best ubers. Now I'm going to be getting air burst, and stunned? Or the ultimate - getting air bursted while stunned? Being stunned has to be one of the most frustrating things in any game. I better be able to dodge that shit. I hope their little bat and ball number requires a bit of standing still.

The bat already had that absurd melee collision knockback so I doubt it's anything new or significant. And I don't know about the shotgun but I didn't get an airburst impression. :P

from the evidence i see... It is possible that it MAY be the Spy update. OR since it took them forever it may be both the scout and the spy. that would be awesome

Spy sappin my Update!

Please note this is just a conspiracy that my friend Jaesaces mentioned to me while we were discussing the "Scout" Update.

We believe that the "Scout" Update is either a ploy or is hinting that the next update will actually be the spy, and we have evidence!

Case 1: The URL's to the updates themselves. First let us examine the Scout's update link.

This seems pretty legit and all, being on the teamfortress site but wait?! Now let us examine the Heavy/Pyro update links

Notice anything strange? Different site perhaps, it contains tf2 before the name of the class, and it doesn't even say update in the link. Pretty suspicious I would say. Gentlemen?

NOTE: All the sublinks for heavy also redirect to steamgames and not teamfortress

Case 2: Copyright logos.

Sure they are all over the pages in footers and syrup and wherever else but, there is one in particular that caught our eye.

Reference the above Heavy/Pyro update pages. Take notice at the logo at the top, the Team Fortress 2 one. If you look closely between the last S and the 2 you will see a small copyright symbol. Now observe the "Scout update" page.

Case 3: Details, details, details, it's all about the details.

I'm sure you have all noticed that the pyro update had all the new weapons mapped out, with what exactly they do and what they replace. Same with the heavy update, telling how long the crit on KGB lasts, how Natascha slows down enemies and is slightly weaker than Sasha, it also has the stats right on the picture in the update, come on now.

But what about Scout? We got pretty pictures sure, but no damage readouts, no lasting effects details, nothing. They just give pretty pictures and long winded paragraphs. For example, the energy drink doesn't even say that you run faster, only that you dodge bullets. This WILL be the last time you see them.

Case 4: Leakage and Images

Thought that I would put two.

Valve is pretty well known for not leaking things and keeping them under lock and key, but we already hear about Force-A-Nature? There is even a picture of it on the Energy Drink update. Is that like Valve at all? I don't think so, even like 4 achievements use its name exclusively, and that seems strange.

Now for my least credible piece of evidence. The picture of the Scout in the energy drink update. Most people assumed it was the next game mode and were all waaahmbulance and bored. But what if it is implying something. Two payload carts, one blu, one red? Sounds like an allusion to spy to me. Just saying.

Case 6: Contradicting Hypocrites!

Pretty much every update that has been shown for the Scout goes against what Valve has previously stated. The Sandman stuns people yet eliminates the double-jump, whereas Valve has said they doesn't want to decrease mobility in classes.

The energy drink gives the Scout the ability to dodge bullets (read above why I do NOT talk about speed). This would make the Scout superbly overpowered and would also negate its hard counter, the sentry.

Maybe Valve is taking our ideas at face value and showing why they don't want to use them.

Case 7: Map Choices

For one thing, they used two update slots for just maps? By update slots I mean of the six on the main page, two are dedicated solely to maps. Also, two of the maps are by the same person, and none of the maps are created by Valve. It seems strange that they would use entirely user made maps instead of creating their own, as they have usually done. Also, people have complained that the new maps are somewhat boring and/or terrible. (Personally I hate junction, and it doesn't seem to fit with scout update at all.)

Seems a little odd to me.

It is true enough, if you go to the main page of any of the updates, the Pryo/Heavy is wielding their main weapon, however; the Scout is handling the Sandman?
