cptheslayer 2 #1 Posted August 31, 2006 hello all, i don't know if you all know this, but i have always thought that Chemist's Mandrake lowers enemy's defens as it is written. But guess wat? It does not, instead it enfeeble the enemy's attack power. This means that it lowers the damage of your enemy that is affected by it. In another word, Dragon clan got Serpetn's leader's BG. Haaaahaha. it works the same way, but shorter period of time. Well, i tested it and i found that it lowers about 1/3 of your enemy's attack. One shot of Mandrake affects amny units around it. So i guess this is very good if you can keep your Mandrake alive. It takes half of Chemist's stamina to shoot one. One chemist can shoot 2 without delay. if the time period for Mandrake is long and Chemist has good resistances, Dragon will be proved to be too strong. i have not test it to see if it works under dc. Sentry 0 #5 Posted August 31, 2006 It works through DC, and i have known and used this BG for a long time now. 17771 I thought everyone knew about it, that's why it always confused me to see that lots of people dismiss the value of having atleast 3 Chemists among your forces. [LOT]diablo 1 #6 Posted August 31, 2006 i knew that 2 . and i also tried it but people always go for the chemist first... they dont even get the chance to shot it... and it doesnt last very long.... good bg though.. i will try to use it as a rush..... cptheslayer 2 #7 Posted September 1, 2006 well do you know that the effect is not lowering enemie's defense as it is stated. But instead it lowers the attack power of your enemies. Baxter, i never seen you use it when you do dragon. Perhaps, you are just saying it to make urself look good, ...jk lol. well, diablo, it is hard to keep chemists alive, but even if they die ezily, it is worth having one or 2. It is better to have them in idle mode when they are out of stamina cuz their innate ability is worth more than the damage they will inflict.
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #8 Posted September 1, 2006 lol cp i guess i havent noticed it because as yalll know i aint even a dragon typa guy but newaiz good lookin out peace...
Sentry 0 #9 Posted September 1, 2006 lol cp i guess i havent noticed it because as yalll know i aint even a dragon typa guy but newaiz good lookin out peace... 17859 Yup, it really doesn't take long to learn what an average of 18 battlegears not including hero's for a single clan? I'm pretty confident I know Serpent's, Dragon's, Lotus' by heart. Don't know Wolf's, I rarely play them since it's BG's that intrigue me the most and they're lacking variety in those. All the good stuff is the mechanical properties of the BGs like in other threads, it was mentioned that SoulChill and WhirlSpear are considered ranged attacks, SoulChill being a Cutting attack. That's the kinda info that isn't explained ingame, love learning it.

Osmium 0 #16 Posted September 4, 2006 When i play against dragon he tries to go in the middle of my force with that thing,he doesnt make 3-4 steps and they are killed,i think Chemist are for razing down buildings, don't you think?
[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #17 Posted September 4, 2006 chemist are actually also good against units because they do explosive and atk more than 1 unit at a time.... witht here upgrade they are good units against buildings and units.. althought they do have there stregths and weaknesses...
Osmium 0 #18 Posted September 4, 2006 But the Chemists aren't so good as ranged units.........small range and his attack afects your units as well.....good for making a diversion.....throw in 3-4 with Starburst and you have the best diversion in the game
Speedy 11 #19 Posted September 4, 2006 .........small range and his attack afects your units as well..... What do you mean by afects your units as well? Yeah they are pretty good for going behind enemy lines and destroying certain buildings quickly, such as a Dragon Monument so they can't use it on you, or The Crypt Of Brothers..
[LOT]diablo 1 #20 Posted September 4, 2006 and with the bg from the fire works it destroys buildings super fast...... and it does a wide ranfge of damage so it killes a group of muskets

[{BeatZ}]-BIG_aLvZ- 5 #22 Posted September 5, 2006 hmmm this is funny but i dont know how it happens... sometimes when i have raiders with buildings infront of it and the opponent atks me with no fire units and i atk using my raiders some of my buildings go on fire lol... not all tha time but it doesn happen i think this is a bug but has it happened to ne other playaz???
Osmium 0 #23 Posted September 5, 2006 If the enemy is attacking your buildings in melee it can happen........happened to me when i was playng serpent(Raiders on defense,i was realy smart )Also the chemist has an area-of-effect dmg and attacks your units too.......
][-AN-][-Ragereaver 0 #24 Posted September 5, 2006 No, the chemists don't attack your own units.
Speedy 11 #25 Posted September 5, 2006 Umm... Osmium you got it all wrong here, chemists only damage enemys, you can't take any damage from your own units. (Exept for BGs like life siphon) And Alvz, yes it happens if your buildings are near the enemys, it spreads to your buildings in the same way it would in there base. In a map with alot of trees, i like to get a few raiders with brush fire set and fire to the trees and buildings.. Trees can also spread fire..
