This quick update patches a few technical issues around widescreen support in certain scenarios, some performance improvements in edge cases, and localization tweaks that should make your playthroughs smoother. That’s enough of a preview of what’s coming in the 1.59.6 update, so let’s dive right in! TechnicalImplemented fixes for cinematic scenes, text rendering, and cursor issues in widescreen and ultrawide screen resolutions. This should address that annoying cursor trail glitch. Integrated Intel graphics users running with DirectX12 on Windows 11 should be in a better place and fixed an issue that could lead to the game crashing. Windowed mode should now run and behave as expected. In this pass, we improved FPS performance and should fix heavy FPS drops in certain edge cases. Restored Windows 7 compatibility for older systems and other compatibility layers. LocalizationUpdated localization across the entire game in UI, tooltips, pop-ups, and other locations. Non-English languages should now see the correctly translated text that were previously hard-coded. Localization efforts are ongoing. We’re continuing to squash technical bugs and improving support for more graphic cards, resolution settings, and other under-the-hood fixes. Keep the feedback coming, we appreciate each and every one, and we’ll keep doing our best to keep improving Battle Realms Zen Edition. Let’s dive straight in on what’s in this patch! TechnicalWe’ve improved how the game is detecting GPUs and should improve texture handling across different configurations. Improved support for Proton/Wine, for those of you running on Linux. Added support for ultrawide and expanded modern resolution support, including: 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1560x1600, 3440x1440, 3840x1600. This is coupled with a more reliable detection method for available resolutions. Monitor refresh rate management and window positioning has been improved for multi-monitor setups. The .ini configuration file now supports atomic and clean saving and is no longer mandatory to launch the game. The .ini file will automatically be regenerated with default settings if it is missing. NetworkingWe’ve made joining lobbies a bit more robust. We fixed a race condition that could occur in certain scenarios and prevented premature JoinComplete conditions that would degrade the lobby experience. TranslationsIncluded additional fixes for Italian translations Included additional fixes for Portuguese translations including missing translated words and restored missing "ç" and "Ç” characters. Battle Realms 1.59.4 Released, Available Now!We’ve been quietly working in the background on getting a few of the most requested features together. Some of these are going to take a bit of time to make sure they meet our and your expectations. In the meantime, we’ve been busy getting to the bottom of some of the bugs and issues you all have reported over the last couple of months. Technical FixesWe’ve fixed the odd issue of when you alt-tab in Linux, you’d lose input controls. Addressed an issue where sometimes the screen or sections would flicker. Fixed an issue where, on certain configurations, the game would fail to find a display mode when starting. Updated and improved rendering compatibility for Proton on Linux. Due to the nature of these changes, your .ini file will be reset to default settings. If you have manually made changes to the .ini and you want to compare the changes, make sure to backup a copy before updating. MultiplayerImproved multiplayer joining lobby and desync experience overall. Lag will still be a factor, but should be a little more forgiving now.
