I first played Battle Realms when I was 5th Grade, it's 2000ish I dont remember. Anyways when I first played battle Realms I sucked what I did is make all my units Samurai,Ronin,Warlock,Werewolf then just defend my town over and over until I have a big final level force then ATTACK the enemy, I know it's stupid but im just a newbie back then and I thought the final level unit is the strongest.

Then I got a little Better when I discovered while doing the Kenji's Journey(First Serpentholm) That my technique suck and I compared the damage of a Samurai,Spearman,Dragon Warrior,Kabuki,etc. to a Warlock that time I discovered that every unit has it's strenght and it's weaknesses.

So my technique from then on is make mixed units defend my base then make a large force then ATTACK. Sometimes it's effective but most of the time when my attack force is attacking I leave my base undefended and when my attack force died I lose hope.

Then I learned all this cheat stuff from making YIn from serpent to Lotus to multiplying Ninjas of Serpent and Lotus to infinite Horses.

I always used that technique to battle my friends and my friends use that technique to me too so all in all our battles where just Ninja battles because that's where we are plentiful and we dont use Wolf and Dragon.

Then I got bored using that technique always so I said to myself I should play real Battle Realms not Battle Realms Ninja Rush wars. So what I did is just practice technique and I started to master Battle Gears so on.

From then on I tried to expert Dragon Clan and got good.

Dragon Clan isnt as weak as you thought it was if I can just Battle one of you and prove it. Anyways after playing Battle Realms for months or years(I dont Remember)I got bored and played the other games.

I havent played Battle Realms in Years but when I found this site then downloaded Battle Realms again and finished Kenji's Journey in 3 days balancing school with it. When I finished Kenji's Journey I didnt experience any pressure from the enemy that's the time I knew Im an expert at this because Kenji's Journey(NOrmal) was too easy for me no pressure at all.

How about you how did you become an expert in Battle Realms??

i got better by losing alot

and i still lose o.o

but of course to get better you need to know the stregths and weakneses of the units

i think thats why some new players like to max on 1 type of unit

Hey nice topic and welcome to the forums. I use to do the same thing as you when i was nub i use to only make ronins, and, samurai then i use to put them on horses.

When i started playing online was when i started to understand the game. Then continue learning and, learning discovering more tricks, how to use battle gears etc...

But now i started playing again and i'm nub again

for me, when i started, i only had the br demo. so i could only either play dragon or serpent. After the first several hours of playing br, I started to know how the game should work. Then strats were generated in my mind. I did many strat such as using chi shield in front of my range consisted of archer, kegs, chemists. however, i always have about 2/5 of my army being sams. Without knowing the weakness and strengths, i could beat the ais so ezily since i got good strat and fast thinking. But the first time i played on line, i got owned because some of the strat wored on ais sucked against other players. And i didn't know much about weakness and strength.

After losing and winning and readings, my br knowledge grew. Now i consider myself as one of the many good players. But im a little different, I got bored of same strat fast and i seek to try new things even though they suck but they are fun.

I am not a pro but i am okay i just played noting else. Mostly 7v1 against ais nowdays i play 7v1 super ais lose and won twice.

and what clan were you using to win?

i played 1v3 super ais in vod. I could win about 1 out of 15 games. I hate fire and wolf clan. whenever there is wolf, i had the hardest time be cause their units are tough. slingers, sledgers, draon warriors, sam, chemist, warlocks, staff, blade, leaf, raiders, cannons, sword, bandit. They all come to attack me at the same time and i don have enough counter units to kill them. The only way i use to win is divide and conquer.

To become a real expert though I would have to say you would have to play online a bit. When you rarely lose online then you know you are a real expert.

I usually play 3 Super AIs (team) vs me in Valley of Death MAP (I am serpent)

7 Super AIs (team) vs me Mateor Mayhem MAP (I am Lotus)

I started to play BR by just making kabukis for dragon. Ronin for serpent. Warlock for Lotus and for wolf Beserker.

To the topic starter, only new player thinks dragon is not good.

You can't play BR without a sound device.

You can only play BR with a sound device that is compatible for BR. IF your sound card is under the requirement for you BR, you will never be able to play BR unless you install a new sound card.

ive to agree with ben you'll learn alot of tactics when you play online ive never seen the geisha on tower tac untill i played online and some other stuff

Yeah I think Im not an expert when compared to you guys but I can sure beat AI easily. There's a lot of difference between AI and Human so maybe I should Battle online.

I have a problem How do I battle Online???I Just downloaded my Battle Realms from this site but can I still play online without having an original game.

And tip for those who is bored with battle Realms Just dont play it for a long time a year or so then when you play it again youll like it again very much;that's in my case.

yes u can play online with the downloaded version here as long as its 1.50q...

most people treat me as a noob, and i lose way too often to even feel like getting closer to being an expert...i am slowly learning to use a variety, but so far i only have used a variety vs the AI...i tend to use the serpent alot and so far my varieties i like to use early are swords+muskets...then later on i mix swords+muskets+cannons+bandits+2-5 raiders...i sometimes use ronin but only if I am being way over my head and when im way over my head i mass ronin and tend to get vanquished...

also if i can spare it i will include geisha and witchs and enforcers in that army to replace raiders and a few swords and bandits...

i can beat all AI except the super AI in which i use a super AI partner to beat or if im online then i risk beating up 5 super AI with 3 human players (results have been the same, the humans lose against 5 allied super AI....)

go to br folder, then open ai file folder, then open each ai file and edit it to whatever you want.
