samuraispirit 0 #4 Posted February 12, 2007 I don´t know who the best player is because I don´t play online. I find that the AI is very hard to beat and so I´m afraid to play against a human player because I´m a noob. I only had play one game (Wolf vs. Wolf in Freedoom). I had build my base (I first build my base before I start to build many units) and he was attacking me with druidesses and the fistfighters. I think the most online players in Battle Realms want to rush theyr enemy. That don´t make fun for me I want a long game with many battles and not one where one site is crushing the other site down in a rush. But I think Ben is the best player or Futsalfred or the Admin Lord Zymeth. Greetings samuraispirit

{HeRo}GeneralDS 4 #15 Posted February 14, 2007 Ok a tip to become better when playing on Freedom or VoD: Learn to rush and rush well. Rushes can decide the whole game. If someone rushes you and your defenses are poor, then you are as good as dead. If someone rushes you and you have a very good defense, then the enemy rush dies and you can attack them ASAP to prevent them from building a bigger army. Same applies to you. If you rush the enemy and they have a poor defense, then you have a good chance to win. And if they have a good defense then they may be able to crush you the instant your last rush unit falls. the key to a rush is fast building and scouting...scouting first before building training buildings will allow you to see what your opponent is planning...and then build the appropriate counter. Example: If you are fighting an opponent, and you scout them. You see they are Serpent and You are also Serpent. They are building Musketeers. You can either have a battle of attrition with your own musketeers or you can build swordsmen/Xbowmen to really hurt the musketeers. then go in and begin attacking them. once the enemy units are gone begin attacking the peasants and their huts or go after the training buildings to keep them from making more units...also for a rush to work effectively its best to have two huts and two of the same training building. the reason is so that the one training building doesnt get overloaded by peasants, slowing down production of units, and you now have two huts generating peasants and can easily alternate peasants to the training buildings to keep them from having a line of peasants backing up from a training building. Everything is easier when you plan and build efficiently...

Everything is easier when you plan and build efficiently... I only can try it and then I will see. I think my mistake is that I first want to build my base with all buildings (like in Command & Conquer or Age of Empires) and then I build my army. So I´m a player who is hiding in his base and then storm out with a great army at the end of the game. But I see in Battle Realms I can´t do that because fighting is more important because every player wants to have his Yin and Yang points to scout the technologys. Sinophile 41 #18 Posted February 15, 2007 You might want to think the best players over. Ben is a great player but I don't know about futsalfred, no offense or anything. No offense taken. I number one of the shittiest players in the history of BR. XD
IndominusRex 13 #19 Posted February 15, 2007 So we are talking about best serpent? By the way, thanks for people's opinion here. But for sure I am not the best The reason that is Cptheslaper sometimes can kill me. I play better than him but he's smarter than me. By using his knowledge of playing BR, he can kill me To conclude this, he could be better. Cp's Dragon probably killed my Serpent. (Sometimes I won by luck - such as last Tuesday.) However, Cp's Serpent didn't kill my Lotus yet. Another thing, Cp's Lotus vs my Lotus, Cp win because of his knowledge of BR He use counter units. (I sometimes won by luck again) Dragon vs Dragon = Ben No match :-p (Because I never try playing 1v1 using dragon before which he did a lot) About Wolf vs Wolf (We don't know yet because I never use my 1v1 wolf's against him - Well, I won a lot to good players using wolf. But I am not sure with CP, because he's smart. What I mean by saying SMART is... HE always attack my base when I attack his base. That's why we mostly resulting in switch bases. If the game took so long, I am getting tired and losing.
{HeRo}GeneralDS 4 #20 Posted February 16, 2007 I only used serpent as an example...I could give more examples but it would be WAY too lengthy... If you are wolf, just forget scouting because sending a peasant to scout will not only waste a peasant but also lengthen the time it takes to build certain needed buildings like a vitality garden...good wolf rushing usually involves druidesses and one of the other training buildings... I cannot rush with lotus... Dragon best rushing is usually done with archers or chemists...but dragon sometimes takes too long to get enough units for a good rush... also there is a different type of rush but only lotus can use it very effectively, its known as a tower rush and involves getting a hut built then quickly building a watchtower in enemy area before they can get started well...once you finish building it send a peasant into it and just fry the enemy peasants with lightning, and hurry to get better fighters in there and a leaf for the tower...do it properly and quickly and the enemy is pretty much as dead as a rat struck by a bolt of lightning... {Dark}CoolGuy 1 #21 Posted February 16, 2007 i really think tower rush is dumb, becuz if you playing against a good player or even middle class player, you will lose becuz all you depend on is tower and you can't make much army while the other person has enough to destroy your tower. But the chances of working is more than the chance of failure... This is because people get panick when are being tower rushed Also, the peasant are dying because of the Tower's lightning in LOTUS. Speedy 11 #23 Posted February 16, 2007 Tower rush works best if you have an ally to back you up. But placement of the tower is also important, you should try and disturb their base as much as possible by placing it somewhere that gets in the way.
