pockets 1,841 #1 Posted April 12, 2012 Do you use them? Which is your favorite? Do you think they're unnecessary? Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?

Willerms 1,794 #4 Posted April 12, 2012 I use Star's HUD. I don't really know of any others
pockets 1,841 #5 Posted April 12, 2012 Yeah, I just added the Garm3n HUD. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Willerms, you got a link to the HUD star uses?
Barbaro 466 #6 Posted April 12, 2012 I have enough crap downloaded from other sites, so I don't really look at customization on Source Games.
Mariposa❧ 483 #7 Posted April 13, 2012 I use broesel hud. It's pretty simple. There are pictures of it in my screenshots. As with every hud, some people like it. . some people don't. I like it a lot, helps me focus on healing and the such. I am not to sure about its necessity. . .I don't think it is necessary, but it may help better your gameplay. Willerms 1,794 #8 Posted April 13, 2012 I don't know the DL link but Awptimus sent it to me. The file name is KN+Garm3nHUD and it's the tanlight version.
+Cactus 4,948 #9 Posted April 13, 2012 I love Garm3n as medic - it puts all the information I need in a really easy-to-see central location, and shows me the numerical health of my healing target. Just easier to keep track of the numbers I need to keep track of. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559813038315339950/E80C51AA87E63E8B8DEC87569D4808B2F44049DC/
pockets 1,841 #10 Posted April 13, 2012 Right. I need to track damage done when playing scout. Garm3n works pretty well for it thus far, but I'm not committed to it.
+Cactus 4,948 #11 Posted April 13, 2012 Garm3n is also good because it puts a big picture of the medic on my HUD to remind me that I am a medic and not a sentry gun.
Zaythi 157 #12 Posted April 19, 2012 I am generic, and am with CommunityTF2HUD, and Chris' highframes. They both work well, and gives me great FPS, clean screen, and easy to use/setup! Probably better out there, but I love it!
Willerms 1,794 #13 Posted April 19, 2012 Zaythi's also a terrible medic. he never 'hooks' me his sandwiches.

Barbaro 466 #17 Posted April 22, 2012 Are we the only one's who is just using a clean TF2 without any mods or huds?? I don't customize any Source game or anything, period, only game I used mods was Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and that's because JKA SUCKED WILLMERS's butt.~:3 Well I do enjoy the generic aimbot amx_ban Willerms 1170 Forthelulz. >3Honestly, if the game continues to give free contents and such, there shouldn't need to be a reason for customization, at least, in my opinion. But again, that's just me, Vanilla Lover and Vanilla Ice Cream enthusiast. Mmm....<3
- Oli - 1,121 #18 Posted April 22, 2012 i do some light modifications to my hud, but nothing major. displays health as a number on target id just bottom right of health cross, made the damage indicators light blue because it looked nice and a couple of other things like the 32player scoreboard. my friend and I are working on new class icons, potentially including personalised ones with hats because it'd be pretty cool tbf although I have little I genuinely want to change about the hud xD
- Mike - 2,728 #19 Posted April 22, 2012 No, I don't use any. Jesus Christ, how horrifying.

- Oli - 1,121 #21 Posted April 22, 2012 ah are they? i played around with a few other things but liked the tf2 normal hud... also looked at some huds made by other people but weren't too keen on them... maybe you're right, but changing the icons for the classes? probs not
Barbaro 466 #22 Posted April 23, 2012 More than half can be edited by the game, the rest require a mod. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/HUD http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Multiplayer_options#Advanced_multiplayer_options I do enjoy the part where it says Game Updates can break the custom huds, take that ya wankers! Possum 10,776 #23 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Are we the only one's who is just using a clean TF2 without any mods or huds?? Personally I don't find the vanilla one "clean", its very cluttered and takes up far too much on the screen. I use the Oxide HUD (http://ben.clnsky.com/tf2hud/), its very minimalistic, and took a while to get used to, but I now love it, I can see so much more of the screen, and all of the information I need is still there. I would recommend to anyone using the vanilla HUD to look around for a custom one (or make your own), its so much nicer to play with one you really like and suits you. They are certainly not unnecessary. A few ideas are listed here: http://tf2strategy.com/?page_id=1316 Look at the first image on that page, see how much of the screen the default HUD can obscure? I do enjoy the part where it says Game Updates can break the custom huds, take that ya wankers! I've had no such problems so far, and I'd say the benefits outweigh the (potential) annoyance of occasionally having to update the HUD as well. Based 189 #24 Posted April 25, 2012 I use FrankenHUD, It's actually a really good HUD in my opinion, better than default. (link) I tried out oxide HUD but there was just one thing i did not like about it, it didn't tell me what team I was on so half the time I would be shooting at my teammates and walking past enemies. If it told me what team I was on i would always be using Oxide HUD.
