What I think and what I do.

Vs lotus Warlock (massed)

Drag - make archers, healers and kabuki with star dust. Be on your toes to stay away from any SC. Hit and run. Warlocks take longer to make than an archer so any losses you take can be quickly replenished. Hopefully if you are taking losses they are also taking losses as massed upgraded archers are devastating vs warlock. The warlocks cannot hurt you with range if you have used star dust.

Serp - Smoke and mug the SC. Have snipes in range but ready to run if it goes wrong. Vet will make it easier for you.

Wolf - Shaled zerks will own warlocks.

Vs Master Warlock with Soul Thresher is pretty much the same tactics except wolf will get owned. Wolf cant beat Soul Thresher (especially on haste). Maybe hit and run with wolfbite is best and have towered ballista.

I think Warlocks don't stand a chance against shale armored Berserkers.

Shale armor decreases effectiveness of magic attacks and I think Warlocks do magic damage.

And Warlocks are weak against cutting attacks right?

If you're dragon, dragon warriors will do well as long as they're not being hit too much with warlock energy bolts (w/e you wanna call them). Idk how guardians or battle maidens will do though. As the serpent clan, use cannoneers (even melee combat against warlocks will work for cannoneers). For wolf, use diggers. As for lotus,you can use leaf disciples.

I can beat a warlock attack with serpent clan. First you get some cannoneers(assuming ur playin Center ring) then give them mines. put mines on the entrance of

your base. Then position them near the mines. When the warlocks attack the mines explode and the cannoneers fire on them. Thats good beacause the cannonballs pass through

the warlocks so it does additional damage.

If im a serpent, i use swordsmen w/ mugging to strip warlocks' SC or i use cannoneers BG

In wolf, I use shale armor to all of my units and ill make sure my druidesses entangle staff adepts(disable DC). attack warlocks in melee w/ berserkers and ranged by ballistamen.

For dragon I use dragon warriors w/ archers

and for lotus i use staff adepts DC.

I think wolf has greater advantage of killing warlocks though

For Serpent Use Bandits with poison and fortified ale.

Dragon?Dragon Warriors! But Battle Maidens (My favorite) can annihilate any range army.

You guys don't really get it.

There is an undefeated move of a whole battalion of Warlocks where everyone are skilled with

"Sehk's Soul Chill" (Warlock's Anti-Melee 1 second deadly AOE kill)

If they cast that skill simultaneously, ALL of the opponents nearby are dead in 1 hit.

It is an AOE 1 hit kill better than the Dragons Breath of Dragon from the Dragon Monument.

The only way to defeat a pack of Warlock is to have 6 Yangs from Dragon and Sacrifice 8 Samurais

because Warlocks cannot get killed by 1 Dragons Breath and it requires 2 unless they are severely damage.

It's true Sehk's Soul Chill is really deadly and widely popular. Especially with Issyl's Boon. A normal big warlock attack with no Sehk's Soul Chill would be easily obliterated by Kabukis (as a few people had mentioned before). :)But IF that big warlock army has 10+ warlocks equipped with SC, then I would say you need 2 Dragon spirits or 1 Dragon spirit and and 4-8 samurais to self destruct. A big army of warlocks can easily be countered.

Some people say canoneers and musketeers. That works (REALLY well, I love them). They may even work against SC.

Note: Vetkin is NOT a good solution against SC. A warlock can cast SC two times. 1 blast to get rid of Vetkin before he gets close enough to burn the entire army's stamina. The other blast to destroying anything else. I've been playing since 2001 and I can count the number of times using Vetkin against an army of Soul Chill-equipped warlocks (controlled by equally skilled players) in one hand.

But you said you don't play online. AIs don't spam Soul Chill. Kabukis, ranged attackers, lvl 3 units, dragon spirit, Utara-led army, samurais with dragon skin, mass whirling spear. Any of those and more would work. Towers work really well too save for Lotus towers. But if you have a Lotus tower that means you are playing Lotus and probably have Dark Canopy.

serpent : with the musketeer it work better because the cannoneer does little damage to them (tested in my moded ver. dunno the real <_^)

for wolf use shaled armored berserkers

for dragon surrender if dont have the 8 samurais, the monument or the 6 yang points

With wolf I personally use Druidesses to shut them down and attack with something else at the same time. I don't play online so I'm not sure if that would work against a non-AI enemy.

Apparently you can easily kill them with Dragon Archers. Someone needs to test this.

The second thing to realise is that the Lotus Clan only begins to get stronger late in the game. They need at least one yin for many of their battle gear (to summon a brother) and consuming peasants for others. It takes a long time to get to the third tier. Their units also walk slowly. If you are using a different clan you should rush them before they get the opportunity to create warlocks.

Anyway, here is a list of counters that I thoguht up:

Dragon:

-Kabuki flash powder eliminates their missile attack. I think when they can't use missile, they charge in to use their melee.

Serpent:

-Vetkin's Bravado to eliminate Soul Chill.

-Not sure if it works, but Swordman's Mugging might work to eliminate Soul Chill too.

-I heard Smoke Bombs work, but I never tried it myself.

Wolf:

-Mass Beserkers with Shale Armor. The armour gives excellent magic defense. Actually, any unit with Shale Armour might work.

Lotus:

-Staff Adept's Dark Canopy shields against missile attack.

using wolf just unleash sledgers with shale; sledger do lots damage against warlocks; just make sure each of the warlock is engaged in melee, outnumbered? bless two or three quickly get close and stun them

with dragon; dragon warriors+chi shield and archers will always win dragon has cut damage;; archer has piercing both can quickly humiliate supportless warlocks; activate chi shield whenever a dragon warrior is about to die...

as for serpent cannoneer+smokes and crossbowman+weakness bolts

this will be countered too if those warlocks have some battlegears so never give any lotus player to develop their brothers! kill them whenever you see....!!!!
