Dragon Against Lotus

If I have one, I'll use a spearman with stun strike to nullify dark canopy. Failing in that, I'll have the majority of my melee concentrating on the staff adept first before proceeding with the rest of the army.

It's not so simple... you think concentrating on the staff's with your melee units and all will be ok ? Of course not. If you approch the staff, you approch the warlocks too, don't forget that. Approching the warlocks means SC.

What about BattleMaidens??? they have exelent resistance vs Magic and Explosive and do Cutting damage..... I know they are a bit late game, but if you start off with archer+geisha+tower and eco a bit, you can start making Maidens easy..... thats mid game tho ... dunno, im new dont shoot

its nearly impossible to beat lotus with dragon.. you dont even need sc... just with dc... ive tried it im lotus ad i just use dc.. and i only use 2.... the wrlocks can take out any unit from dragon when they are under dc.... but dc and sc is nothing against a very good lotus player.. dont forget the slow goo from unclean and also the skull... and the disease takes away mana so you cant stun or use stardust..dont get me started with master warlocks if its a long game... theyre globe bg is just too powerful.. it increases its damage turns the attack from explosive to magic and it increases range..come on!!!! the only unit that i can think of that its resistence is good vs magic are dragon warriors... but who makes them? it wouldnt even matter because in close combat master warlocks do cuttin damage and dg are weak against that .... dragon can only beat lotus in a rush game(well thats how i win vs lotus when im dragon) and even that it takes skill..but i havent played in a while maybe you guys already came up with something bulletproof to beat lotus

if it were me this is what I would do

[condition 1: Population: enemy units = players units]

[condition 2:

1. put 4 samurais in the Dragon Monument for the Dragon's Fire

2. Player must have enough yang to pull out Dragon's Fire

3. Player must already have all power ups for samurai's and archers]

Strategy:

1. Create an army of about half archers half Samurai/Dragon Warrior [Although I would pick samurai]

2. Do not approach the enemy from the front you have to approach them in as many angles as his Staff Adepts. This means you have to break up your team into smaller groups. Ex. if there are 4 staff adepts break your army into 4 having the same number of archers and samurais in every group.

3. Hold the samurai's behind the archers. Concentrate fire using the archers on the staff adepts[your goal here is not to damage but to attract their attention].

4. Now there will be many possible conditions here but here are what I think are the most probable to happen

[condition 1.1 The enemy breaks formation and approaches all of your groups]

1.If this happens this will be a battle of micro managing. In this case normally you have an advantage because usually dragon units run faster than lotus units. If he keeps on chasing you his staff adept will run out stamina and note that there is a 100% chance that they will run out of stamina first if you did not run before you started attacking them. If this happens you can go ahead and engage them in battle because usually you have the advantage here especially if the enemy broke up into groups as small as yours.

[condition 1.2 The enemy singles out one of your army and attacks it]

1.What you should do here is make the group they chose to attack to retreat.

2. More often than not the enemy would deactivate their dark canopy so they can move if he did this you can use your archers to damge them a bit while chasing

3. Sometimes the opponents would choose to create a pathway by changing the positions of their dark canopy. If they do this you have no choice but to retreat for a while.

4. Whatever happens there will come a time when their staff adepts will run out of stamina take this chance to kill them using your archers.

5. if the opponent does chase after you using their warlock and their warlocks run ow on stamina you can choose to engage them but this really isn't a good choice unless they don't also have a dark canopy.

[condition 1.3 The enemy moves to the borders of their dark canopy to attempt to attack you]

1.The most probable thing the opponent will try to do is move near your army under the dark canopy and attack your archers if this happens just move a bit back. If you're lucky the opponent might move a bit outside their dark canopy and if that happens attack the warlock that went out of the dark canopy using your archers.

2. Continue with this tactic until the enemy loses his dark canopy. When this happens immediately attack using your samurais with dragon skin and fire your Dragon's fire in them. This will give you an edge until you lose stamina with this there is a 50% chance that you will clear the warlocks out before you run out of dragon's skin if not you would surely be cleared out by their Soul Chill but when they do that since they are damaged there will also be another 50% chanc that you will clear them out with your samurai's deaths. While doing this the archers must kill all the staff adepts then join in killing the warlocks. If your samurai get's cleared out and there are still some warlocks remaining clear them out with your archers.

Note that all of this are extremely hard to do since making a mistake might make you lose especially if you keep on doing mistakes and have your archers killed.

Killing a lotus army like that using dragon is plain hard so you really have to do something that will make put you to an advantage. In this strategy I used the archer's longer range and the dragon's speed to create an event where the dragon will have a small advantage against that kind of army. This strategy works for me. It is very hard to pull off. But rest assured if you manage to do it you might pull a win. Otherwise just go with a rush to avoid the scenario that the lotus builds an army like that

how about this:

by the time the dragfon got all upgrades for sams and archers and dragon fire, lotus also has hereos and many sc and st ds goo dw and horses. just say the healesr on horses alone can fucking kill dragon units one by one with ease. not to say using koril ninjas zymeth isle. How big is the map are you talknig about? Usually, we play in a map not too big. So lotus haste is useful in catching up to the enemy and kill them.

I never take Samurai to Lotus bases for obvious reasons, but I do take plenty of archers dragon warriors, battle maidens and a few of every other unit. archers are absolutely invaluable after their 2 upgrades.

You are forgetting an imporatnt tactic which can perhaps works.

This is it :

Lotus are slow. Dragon are not slow.

Use this advantage and you might win games with dragon against lotus.

This is how i explain this tactic:

Send scout, you have to know if lotus will rush or stay in his base to get a large army of warlocks, uncleans, dc etc...

If he doesn't rush, try to make fire archers as fast as you can and go burn their buildings, especially the crypt of the brother.

If lotus are coming to attack you in your base, just make mass towers and mass stardust, with some healers and few warriors.

While lotus is attacking you, go burn their buildings with fire archers or fire dragon warriors.

But you have to defend in the same time, use your stardust for their warloks to don't destroy your towers.

If you are good and you can handle lotus until here, try to get dragon fire! It will give you a major advantage if you use it at the right moment.

That's why if anyone wants to win in dragon vs lotus game, he has to own a good skill or very good skill...

I personnaly think these sorts of game are very interesting for dragon because only smart players can win.

It is almost impossible for Dragon to win on Freedom if the Lotus is half-decent.. If the map is large with man alternate bases it is much easier for Dragon. Lotus is so slow it takes a long time to reach all your bases, and as said above it would be easier to seperate the Lotus army.

Well nobody cares if they're slow or not since most of games are played on freedom or valley of death wich are small maps.

But yes when they have Issyl they are faster than everything and not only for moving but their attack speed rate too.

Yeah well beating lotus with dragon is really hard.. specially since I find most if not all of their heroes incredibly useful or powerful and I believe that with koril the strategy I posted above would be completely pointless or ineffective. In such cases I guess the best way to beat the lotus army is to bring them to your towers and use your towers to your advantage.. It may be quite hard but the towers can pretty much make things a lot harder for them and if I recall correctly the moment you are able to use your watch tower charges effectively on their lotus army you can pretty much kill all their staff adepts without casualties or deaths since they will be so stunned. But even if that is the case.. it will still be terribly hard.. You have to play really well to beat a lotus player of equal calibur..
