boywonder03 2 #76 Posted May 7, 2009 I liked the book on Yousuck's desk. Must come in handy for all the arguing you do. I did a report on that book in history class! It doesn't really cover arguing and winning every time... at least that I remember.

LunchBox 10 #80 Posted May 7, 2009 There is a section in that book that deals with internet newbs. Chapter 5: Internet Newbs When arguing with an online foe, make sure to prey on their inadequacies. Point out that they're a 16 year old virgin with a weight problem, if they call you the same, say something about fucking their mother. You can also post pictures of yourself, but only if you are not composed of the same features as them.

Mana 3,867 #82 Posted May 8, 2009 I was actually kidding about the book. The title is misleading. http://www.amazon.com/How-Argue-Win-Every-...nDateDescending Books... I read enough online as it is. Books and paper and even pens are just.. well archaic. Antiquated ways of transcribing thoughts. Hmmph I prefer my laptop, pda, or one of my desktops. EDIT: Just few days ago I had to unwrap this leather note/paper holder and use a pen to write down a cell phone number. I felt like a caveman. (My phone was unavailable due to it hiding somewhere in my house)

(My phone was unavailable due to it hiding somewhere in my house) What I been doing and it works for me is download audio books and listen to it in my car. Most well known books have been read into audio. For the ones I cant find audio books for, I convert PDF ebooks into MP3 audio using Textaloud. Its pretty cool cuz I get about an hours worth of reading while driving my car every day. Im so used to typing that when i write using pens, I attempt to write as fast as I generally type and sometimes I skip letters because my hand cant catch up lol. Yes audio books are of higher value. You can do other things while listening... such as meager physical labor (I.E. cleaning your house) all the while pumping your brain with something a bit more useful. h3gi 5 #85 Posted May 8, 2009 I can see it now. You glance to the right, two rows in front of you in the bus, and see a man listening to his mp3 player. No biggie, you continue looking outside. Several minutes later, he jumps up with tears in his eyes and cries, "NO, SNAPE! YOU CAN'T KILL DUMBLEDORE!!" A baby behind you starts crying, while the person sitting next to the man burrows against the wall, distraught, caught between him and the window. Wish there was a better way. Isn't the voice on the recording Microsoft Sam or some shit? Some of the words that bot pronounces I /really/ can't understand..or I'd use TextAloud religiously While I'm sure there's plugins for TextAloud...I haven't gotten around to "getting" 'em ;P

kellis 0 #93 Posted May 9, 2009 Then i'd rather be archaic and read a normal book. I read alot faster from a book then from a computer and i like to taste the words, especially if it's an english text (not my native language). Audio books ability to give you the option to do something else while listening is besides the point for me with a text, i'd rather find the time and sit down and only delve into the book/whatever. I like sitting down to read a book. If I miss something on audio I have to sit there and rewind, not only that but if I'm somewhere like the airport waiting I don't have something to pop the Cd into. The point of a book is to sit down and do that one thing not read and do five things at once.
boywonder03 2 #95 Posted May 9, 2009 There's no better smell in the world then that of opening an old book. That's why I buy 80% of my books from half price books. (I even found a copy of the TMNT table top rule playing game there).
