People regularly know what they are getting ahead of time? Doesn't that take the fun out of it?

My family all write a list which is like 2-3x the budget, that my mum manages, then we all choose stuff from it, and so little presents we choose ourselves.

This way we know we will get some stuff we want but not sure what, and some presents. We also do our presents on Boxing Day so Christmas ends up being two days long which is fun
