Maps
This area includes user made Map files for Battle Realms. Maps uploaded here should work on all versions of the game. That is Steam, GoG and Original CD version Battle Pack 2 or higher for (.map) (.bre files require Winter of The Wolf expansion to be installed).
To install:
Put downloaded maps (.map or .bre file format) in your Battle Realms\Levels folder. Extract them beforehand if needed (.zip, .rar, .7z), A a good free utility to use for archive extraction is 7zip.
When uploading a new map be sure to include a screenshot of how your map looks like.

Bridge of Woe (4)

Bridge Of Woe is a 5 player Hellscape. The eastern players have more of a luxury in deciding to cross the bridges, whereas the closeness of the 3 in the west forces a more immediate series of confrontations. The 3 bridges provide ample strategic routes for attacks. Players in the west are in a more tense situation, but they have the horses. Nobody has an abundance of rice, and the northwestern player with the only profound height advantage is cramped and suffers from the water-is-far-away problem. The northmost bridge is quite architecturally neutral, with a few choke points. The broad central bridge has a raised control position in its middle, valuable fighting terrain to hold or retreat to during an advance. The southern pathway is closest to the sulphurous ash - its surface has crumbled and warped to the point where it is mostly only a chaotic single-file line of death, hanging dramatically from its entranceways. Its dangerous nature means most players need not worry about attacks mounted through there.

1 team has to besiege the old stronghold of the serpent clan. If the poison of the interwined vipers will be enough to paralyze their invaders?
Layout based on the original Serpent Holm from Kenji's Journey. It works pretty well as a teamgame 3 vs 3. Don't forget to X nearby friends. It works in free-for-all as well, but it's a bit unbalanced.

Armageddon
Full of intense battles, close bases, and devious surprises in this fine 4 player map. Trees, rice, water and animals are plentiful and diffused together in harmonic blends. A very dark, rainy map with plenty of effects, objects, and paths. The trees may provide cover for many ambushes and traps. This map looks very easy, but you may have trouble defending your territory.

Thuringian Abbey (4)
Deep in the heart of the thuringian forest the old abbey elevates above the mountain. It got destroyed during the raids and skirmishes between the 4 villages at the surroundings. Who of them have to take responsibility for this infamous action? The winner will write the history.
Play hide and seek with your enemy. Raid neighboring settlements, set traps, hide behind bushes and use the environment to outflank your counterpart. And allways have a look at the woods for enemy ambushes or wolf packs.

Adurant

The map was designed to discourage turtling. The bases are in the corners of the map on the hills and every base has only two paths into the valley. That seems to encourage turtling, but the low amount of rice to be found on the hill and the distance to the next source of water will force the player to build a well next to his rice field and use a lot of peasants watering or to get control over one of the rice fields down in the valley. However you've got the choice between wasting a lot of units on rice and water or creating outposts.
I suggest to play the map at slow rice growth rate to encourage expansion.

Lots of great ideas from very old maps, and some new ones ive never seen so far, too. Crazy how many things you can build with 4 different stones, lol. I would love to see you playing with the coloring tool some more for shadowing lowgrounds, cliffs, paint lighting from fires. -
