Speedy 11 #1 Posted March 20, 2008 I did a test with epoX to see if the Dragon Spearman's damage upgrade increases the damage of Whirling Spear, and this is what we found: Each health bar is that of a Dragon Spearman, the damage taken is from Whirl with & without the upgrade. Speedy 11 #6 Posted March 25, 2008 Yes. It deals a little less damage when they are not engaged in melee combat. I wonder if it is in stages, so that the further away the Whirl is the smaller the amount of damage, or if it is a set damage until they reach a certain point at which they're out of range and deal 0 damage. Speedy 11 #10 Posted March 28, 2008 Yes Diablo. Whirl is less and less powerful the further away it is from the enemy. It does the most damage when the Spearmen are actually engaged in melee combat when you activate Whirl. So if you want to kill someone's Necromancer, make 6 whirls and a Flashpowder. Then run and attack the Nec, only activating Whirl after they have stabbed the Nec a few times. Don't forget to use Flashpowder BEFORE whirl no point if you do at same time or afterwards. cptheslayer 2 #15 Posted April 2, 2008 whirl spears are in general good against musks, spearmen, ronnins, wwolf, hurlers, ... But not good against sams, diseased one, and .... Today, i made 5 or 6 diseased ones and they got killed by a group of 5 or 6 whirl spears. Guess what happened to those killers? they got killed by poison clouds. Very funny to watch them die. the necromancer 2 #25 Posted June 2, 2008 i always use whirling spear, especialy since that time i was doing a dragon campaign, and i had cleared out the map, except for (what i thought) one peasent. so i split army my army, and had 5 spearmen with whirling spear equpped and they ran into an enemy peasent hut with like a bajillion peasents surrounding it, so they starting attacking and i activated their battle packs, and then there was quite literarlly limbs flying everywhere lotus limbs XD Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
