I reckon Canoneers are slightly better, since their very good at hitting multiple enemies and buildings despite a slower fire rate. They overkill more too.

Musketeers. They EVER hit the enemy but the canoneers not. And the canoneers have problems to shoot enemys who are on the ground of a hill and the canoneers standing on top of it. And the musketeers are faster at running I think. And the musketeers can get explosions so they get more blast power. :)

I vote musketeers. With sniperscope, they have a good range and can knock people off of their horses with it, and their attack is pretty good for taking out buildings. I'd say that when they're massed, they're better than massed cannoneers. The enemy can't even dodge the bullets because they instantly hit, making them good against Koril or the Shale Lord.

I like musketeers better for many reasons. First, they never miss unless you're using the blast shot battlegear. Second, they're quite effective against units, especially samurai and ronin. Third, the blast shot battlegear improves their effectiveness against buildings immensely, so that advantage of the cannoneers is now useless.

Well, I prefer Musketeers due to its "Instant Hit" innate ability, in which every missile attack hits without fail. Therefore, Musketeers with Sniper Scope upgraded with Vital Points and Reinforced Plating make it a good unit on defending.

However, if you want it offensively-minded, go for cannoneers. Cannoneers are good also defensively due to mines, and offensively due to Smoke Bombs. If you want to counter ranged defenders, go for it. :)

Both are good but cannoners are more usefull

Musketeers actually do good damage only to units who are weak on exp... but to any other units they do redicilous damage even with upgrade.

Canoners do more and with upgrade for range they have slightly less range than a sniper skope... besides they hit multiple units, both of thier BG-s are insane and they are E armor on magic AND explossive making them a perfect unit for a lotus enemy...

A little offtopic: once I was playing with 3 friends of mine and we were like 2v2 I was serpent my opponents lotus.... My army was in the down right corner while my village in the upper right one - > tha map was medium I guess... anyway the enemy comes with mass warlocks and unclean with mounted geishas and 2 zymeths right to my ricefield... I had to run to my village and fight without my ally... hw was not responding or somethin and I stopped them!!! dont ask how :D however using about 35 units to defeat about 70 expecially lotus ones I think is not an easy task....

So serpent pwns if played right
