Fire shield is almost worthless. You are too busy controlling your army not healers. Those fire shield are consuming stamina which could be a problem when you have wounded men on your side. Just use "sacrifice" as their battle gear

I would go for yang blade as well. Your samurai will die if you go around using yang blade since it is very weak against range units and with no stamina it cant do much. Fire shield is kind of useless it is true, but if you are playing vs wolf and werewolves BG annoying you to death then a lot of geisha with fireshield can help a lot since it really takes very little stamina which you gain while standing and using fireshield.

btw mandrake spores are pretty useless as well since we hardly use them and in late game its completely useless since chemists die so easily. Only possible option is using mandrake when u r rushing some1 and using it with the mix of other army. yang blade and mandrake are pretty useless overall.

excuse me but i think gueisha is a very powerfull soldier to have by your side. anyways i also have gueishas and they are ALWAYS protected i put the melee soldiers on front then gueisha and finnaly the one that atack from far ~(i dunno how to call them im not english sorry). so if anything appens then its usefull for you to have fire shield because with all of the soldiers there you can send one to fight melee against the opponent whos is atcking gueisha after put her fire chield on then you tell her to run then she can heal herself and the team. i think its a good plan,

Now that I've read your posts, I'd say Fire Shield is the worst. xD I used to always equip my geishas with it, but then I realize you guys are right, it does very little damage to your opponents. And if it can't burn buildings, then it really is worthless.

I've tried stardusting enemy missile units. It makes then run up to your units and use their melee attack.

It had been a year or so this poll had been posted. So far, fire shield is popular as the lamest Dragon clan battle gear. However, all options were selected as possible candidates for the category. I stand on my first choice. FIRE SHIELD is still the lamest battle gear. It is almost insignificant to acquire.

Fire Shield is the worst BG for Dragon, though it increases attack power for the geisha. About Teppo's BG, it helps Teppo in protecting himself from missile units especially over Warlocks, Yvaine, etc.(as long that missile units uses magic power to attack their opponenrs)

Fire Shield - This is useless if you use geishas as healers instead of a combat unit

Mandrake Spores - this is useful when fighting a large army

Fire Rockets - having few chemist w/ this BG can kill werewolves and master warlocks

Flame Sword - this is useful for burning buildings combined w/ archer's FA

Stardust - this is effective against warlocks

Schrapnel kegs - good for killing large and compressed units (although one-time use)

Yang sword - useful when farming yang at the beginning, i replace it w/ DS afterwards

Homemadebrew for Kazan - very useful BG when you combine w/ otomo. (BG and stamina innate)

Teppo's Battlegear - quite useless

Call Horse for Garrin - this can also used for scouting if the horse you called is near your opponent's base

over all the most useless is Fire Shield (geisha)

I pick fire shield. Why the fuck would I want to use my geisha for fighting instead of healing, and to surround her with fire which does very little damage to units? While wasting her stamina?

Yang sword is also pretty shit. It lasts for like three seconds before your stamina is drained. IIRC, it also doesn't produce yang either, it just gets stronger if you have a lot of yang. Why would I have so much yang left around? I would be making the most of it to summon the dragon or researching techniques, not having it sit around so I can use it to strengthen my samurai attacks. For three seconds.
